Has a Budding Artist Drawn On Your Leather Lounge?

Nice light coloured leather lounges and chairs seem to attract young wannabe artists like a magnet!  A pen or felt tip pen drawing on your furniture is nice addition right?
Well if you think not like we do then you need to be prepared. Keep our Ink Remover Stick close by ready to call into action when the grandkids go rogue! Cleaning ink off Leather has never been easier.

Safe To Use On Painted and Semi Aniline Leather

If you have got a protected or coated leather item (Clear coat applied over the pigment) then our Ink Remover Stick is completely safe to use. With most pen ink smudges, stains and drawings on the leather, the ink liquid usually affects only the clear protective layer and doesn’t absorb into the colour coat of the leather meaning its easy for our ink remover to clean the ink off. If your leather is old or a little dirty and used then the clear protective coating can be thin or worn off and this is when the ink can penetrate the colour and become stubborn to remove.

Remember Don't Panic and Don't Scrub

It can be a shock to find Ink stains on your car seat, handbag or expensive leather lounge, trying to remove the ink stain in a panic can sometimes cause further damage. Never scrub strong cleaners, chemicals or home made remedies on the area as this almost always remove the clear protective coat and smudge the colour coat. Instead be prepared and keep our ink remover stick close by.

Used by Professional Leather Cleaners & Technicians

This is the ‘Go To’ Ink Remover product for all professional Leather cleaning and repair technicians. Save the cost of calling out a pro for something you can do yourself for as little as $23.00!

* Due to the  many variations of leather and ink type and leather condition, there is no guarantee that 100% ink removal will be achieved. It is also very important to pre test the ink remover on an inconspicuous area of leather to ensure compatibility with your leather and the Ink remover. Ink remover is a strong product and can cause top coat and colour loss and damage if not compatible. Also note the Ink Remover Stick is not suitable for Nubuck, Suede or Uncoated Aniline leathers and fabrics.

General Advice

General Advice

1, Always pretest the product in an inconspicuous area before using the product to check compatibility, if the product affects the leather do not use.
2, Never rub too hard and always follow the instructions.
3, Sofa Rehab Ink Remover Stick is designed to work on pen ink and lipsticks etc however due to many types of inks, pens and lipsticks available to purchase some stains maybe more stubborn to remove than others.
4, If the leather is dirty, old or damaged in anyway this may cause the clear coat and colour coat to be very fragile and our Ink Remover will likely affect the protective and colour layer. So use with caution in these situations.
5, Texta and felt tip pen ink may not be removed using this product.
6, If the ink stain is older that 5 days the Ink remover stick will be less effective and may not fully remove the stain.
7, Only use on Pigmented and protected leather and Vinyl.
8, We do not guarantee the Ink Remover Stick will full remove the stain.

FAQs

FAQs

Will this work on my ink?

This ink remover stick has been very successful in removing most ink stains however we cannot guarantee that it will remove all ink stains due many contributing factors.

My Ink is older than 5 days so will it work?

Potentially yes, The effectiveness of the product is reduced the longer the ink stain os left of the leather surface.

Will this work on Nubuck or Aniline?

No. Only suitable for protected and coated leathers and vinyl.

Felt tip pen marks

Our product can remove some felt tip pen stains however is has little effect on some stains.

Will this damage the leather?

There is always a risk when using Ink remover on leather and vinyl surfaces and any damage is usually due to the current condition of the surface being cleaned, if the surface is weak due to lack of regular cleaning and maintenance etc then the protective layer will be fragile. Another way the product could cause damage is by improper use. IE Rubbing aggressively to remove the stain.

What shall I do if the Ink doesn't come out?

In this instance you would need to block out the remaining ink with the Sofa Rehab Leather & Vinyl Paints

Will this remove lipstick?

Yes. However note that some lipsticks contain SPF moisturisers and oils which prevent our Ink remover from penetrating the lipstick stain.

Just perfect! Only bought one to boost the saggiest seat in our L shaped couch and see if I got the right density, and I did. Tucked it under the cushion and now the seat looks consistent with the rest. Now to buy some more for the rest of the couch.
