How To Install Your Kaidi KDH127-006 Recliner Switch
Follow these simple steps to replace your switch and control box. No prior experience required. If you get stuck, contact our friendly team and we will help you through it.
Before You Start
- Disconnect power at the wall and unplug the transformer. Wait 60 seconds for any stored power to discharge.
- Move the chair to a clear workspace and tip it gently on its side if needed for easier access. Protect flooring and fabric with a towel.
- Confirm you are fitting the supplied control box with the new switch. These components are designed to work together.
What You Will Need
- Phillips head screwdriver
- Small flat tool or plastic trim tool to lift the fascia
- Two suitable mounting screws for your furniture frame (not supplied)
- Cable ties or tape for tidy cable routing (optional)
Step 1: Remove the Old Switch
- Locate the existing side switch on the arm. Gently pry off the decorative fascia to reveal the fixing screws.
- Undo the two screws and slide the old switch body out of the cut-out.
- Follow the cables to the connectors under the chair. Unplug the main multi-pin control plug and any headrest or auxiliary plugs. Note the routing so you can replicate it.
- If your chair has an existing control box, unscrew or unclip it from the frame and unplug its connectors.
Step 2: Install the New Control Box
- Position the supplied control box where the original was mounted or in a similar protected location away from moving parts.
- Secure it to the frame using existing fixings or cable ties. The box should be secure and not rattle.
- Connect the chair’s actuator and power leads to the new control box. Press each plug firmly until it clicks or seats fully.
Step 3: Fit the New Switch
- Feed the new switch cables through the arm cut-out toward the control box location. Avoid edges that may pinch the cable.
- Offer the switch body into the cut-out with the buttons upright. Align the holes and fasten using two suitable screws (not supplied). Do not overtighten.
- Clip the nickel coloured fascia onto the switch to hide the fixings. Ensure it snaps in evenly on all sides.
Step 4: Make the Plug Connections
- Connect the 5-pin DIN plug from the switch into the matching socket from the control box. Align the locating notch, then push straight in until it is fully seated.
- If your chair uses a powered headrest, connect the 2-pin OI plug from the switch to the headrest motor lead. Ensure the locking buckle is engaged.
- Use cable ties to keep slack away from moving parts such as the scissor mechanism and footrest arms.
Step 5: Power On and Test
- Return the chair to its normal position. Plug the transformer back into the wall and switch the power on.
- Test each function in short presses. Check footrest up and down, backrest up and down, headrest up and down, and the Home button.
- Confirm the USB charging port powers your device. Use a known good cable and device.
Troubleshooting Tips
- No movement at all: Check wall socket power, transformer connections and the 5-pin plug seating. Disconnect power for 30 seconds and reapply.
- Only some functions work: Recheck the headrest 2-pin connection. Ensure the locking buckle is clicked in.
- Buttons operate in reverse on left or right fitment: This can occur with some chair wiring. Swap the actuator leads at the control box if required, then retest.
- Fascia does not sit flush: Back off the mounting screws slightly and reclip the fascia. Check there is no fabric trapped under the edges.
- Cables rub on the mechanism: Reroute and secure with cable ties. Maintain a gentle loop where the mechanism moves.
Safety and Support
- Always disconnect power before connecting or disconnecting any plugs.
- Do not force connectors. Align keys and push straight in until fully seated.
- If you are unsure about any step, contact our support team (click here) with photos of your current switch and plugs. We are happy to help.

FAQs
FAQs
KDH127-006 switch compatible with my recliner?
This switch is designed for dual-motor recliners that use Kaidi actuator systems with a 5-pin DIN plug and a 2-pin headrest connector. If your current switch looks similar and uses the same plugs, it’s very likely compatible. If you’re unsure, contact us with photos of your existing switch and plugs — we’ll confirm for you.
Do I need to replace the control box as well?
Yes. The control box supplied with the KDH127-006 is factory-paired to the switch, and both must be replaced together for proper operation. Using an old control box may cause the buttons or USB port to function incorrectly.
Does this switch include the mounting screws?
Mounting screws are not included, as different recliners use various screw types and thread lengths. You can reuse your existing screws or use two screws of similar size for installation.
Can this switch be fitted on either the left or right side of the recliner?
Yes. The KDH127-006 can be mounted on either side. The fascia plate is symmetrical, and the buttons will operate correctly once installed.
Is the USB port suitable for charging phones and tablets?
Yes. The integrated USB-A port is designed for charging small devices such as phones, tablets, and accessories. It provides convenient power while you relax in your recliner — no extra wiring or adapters needed.
