Description

Kaidi KDPT007-211 Recliner Actuator for Headrest & Lumbar Adjustment

The Kaidi KDPT007-211 is a replacement linear actuator motor designed for electric recliner chairs, sofas and lift chairs. This actuator is most commonly used for powered headrest or lumbar support functions, providing smooth and controlled movement where shorter stroke operation is required.

Fitted with a standard 2 pin (OI) plug, this actuator integrates easily into most recliner systems that use Kaidi components. The partially coiled cable allows flexibility during operation and helps reduce strain on the wiring inside the mechanism.

Commonly Used for Headrest & Lumbar Mechanisms

This actuator is typically used as a secondary motor in multi-motor recliners, rather than the main footrest actuator. If your headrest or lumbar support has stopped working, become unresponsive or is moving unevenly, this actuator is often the component requiring replacement.

Matching the model number KDPT007-211 is important, as actuators can look similar but differ in stroke length, speed and fittings.

How to Install the Kaidi KDPT007-211 Recliner Actuator

Before starting, disconnect your recliner from the power supply and move the furniture into a safe working position. We recommend practicing safe lifting techniques and getting assistance if needed when tilting or moving the recliner. Before removing the old actuator, take a clear photo of the existing setup so you can refer back to the cable routing, plug position and mounting points during reassembly.

  1. Disconnect the power.
Unplug the recliner from the wall and disconnect the transformer or battery pack to ensure there is no power going to the chair.
  2. Access the actuator.
Carefully tilt the recliner into a position where you can safely access the mechanism. Use safe lifting techniques and avoid placing strain on your back. If the chair is heavy or awkward, ask someone to assist you.
  3. Take a reference photo.
Before removing anything, take a photo of the old actuator, its cable routing, plug connection and mounting points. This will make installation of the new part much easier.
  4. Disconnect the actuator cable.
Unplug the actuator from the junction box or control system. Take care not to pull on the wire itself. Grip the plug firmly and release any retaining clip if fitted.
  5. Remove the mounting points.
Undo the pins, clips, bolts or fasteners securing the actuator to the mechanism. Keep all hardware aside in a safe place for reuse if required.
  6. Remove the old actuator.
Once both ends are free, remove the actuator from the recliner mechanism.
  7. Fit the new actuator.
Position the new Kaidi KDPT007-211 actuator in the same orientation as the original. Reattach both mounting points using the original clips, pins or fasteners.
  8. Reconnect the cable.
Route the partially coiled cable in the same way as the original unit, using your reference photo as a guide. Plug the actuator back into the correct socket, making sure the connection is fully secure.
  9. Test the operation.
Reconnect the power supply and test the headrest or lumbar function before returning the recliner to its normal position. Check that the movement is smooth and that the cable is not stretched, pinched or rubbing on moving parts.
  10. Return the recliner to position.
Carefully move the furniture back into place using safe lifting techniques. Your recliner should now be ready to use.

If you are unsure whether this is the right replacement actuator for your recliner, contact our team for assistance before installation.
