How To Install the eMoMo E50C Foundation Set
Before You Begin
Unplug the recliner from the wall to ensure there is no electrical power. Move the chair into an open area so you have clear access to the rear. Use safe lifting techniques when tilting or moving the recliner; bend your knees, keep your back straight, and avoid twisting while lifting. Before removing anything, take a clear photo of the existing foundation socket and wiring so you can refer back to it during reassembly.
Step 1 — Access the Rear of the Recliner
Gently tilt the recliner forward or onto its side to expose the lower rear section of the arm carcass where the foundation socket is positioned. Make sure the chair is stable before continuing.
Step 2 — Remove the Old AC Foundation Socket
Locate the two screws securing the old socket to the furniture frame and remove them using a screwdriver. Carefully slide the socket outward to expose the wiring behind it.
Step 3 — Disconnect the Internal Cables
Your original socket will have a figure-8 internal connector and a 2-pin output plug leading to the power adapter. Disconnect both plugs. If any wiring looks unfamiliar, check the photo you took before starting.
Step 4 — Connect the New eMoMo E50C Foundation Set
Prepare and connect the wiring to the new foundation module:
- Insert the figure-8 link cable into the matching figure-8 socket on the back of the new facia.
- Plug the 545mm pigtail 2-pin lead into your recliner’s AC/DC power adapter.
Ensure both plugs are pushed in firmly.
Step 5 — Mount the New Socket
Place the new foundation facia into the original cut-out and secure it with the two supplied screws. Confirm the panel sits flush and firmly in place.
Step 6 — Reconnect & Test
- Return the recliner to its upright position using safe lifting posture.
- Plug the recliner’s AC mains cable into the new 2-prong socket.
- Check that the transformer is connected correctly.
- Switch the illuminated rocker switch to ON.
- Test the recliner’s functions to ensure everything is operating properly.
