Kaidi KDH020-317 Touch Sensor Switch Kit for Single Motor Recliners
The Kaidi KDH020-317 is a complete touch sensor control kit designed to operate single actuator recliners. It includes two chrome-plated touch sensors, a control box, and a 2-metre actuator cable with a standard 5-pin DIN plug. This genuine Kaidi kit is a direct replacement for damaged or faulty touch controls commonly used in electric recliners and lounges.
This system offers smooth, reliable operation with a sleek appearance. The two touch sensors can be mounted into the armrest, seat wall, or console panel, making it ideal for both fabric and leather recliners with thick upholstery.
Genuine Kaidi Quality & Compatibility
As an official Kaidi-manufactured part, this KDH020-317 kit is engineered for compatibility with single actuator recliner systems operating on 24–29v DC power. The kit features a universal 5-pin DIN connector with secure retaining clips and two high-quality chrome touch sensors for a modern and durable control solution.
The threaded 31mm sensor shafts and double-nut fittings ensure a secure hold, even in thicker upholstered panels, while the compact control box (86mm × 45mm × 33mm) allows flexible installation options using screws or cable ties.
How It Fits and Works
The chrome sensors mount through the seat side upholstery. Feed the red and black sensor leads through to the underside of the seat cushion or frame and plug them into the control box (red-to-white, black-to-black). Mount or tie the control box securely, then connect the 5-pin DIN plug directly to the actuator. Press the chrome pads to drive the actuator up or down.

How To Install the Kaidi KDH020-317 Touch Sensor Kit
Replacing this kit is a straightforward DIY task. You will only need basic hand tools (screwdriver and pliers). Follow the steps below and take your time.
-
Unplug the recliner from power.
Disconnect the transformer from the wall outlet and wait 60 seconds. This prevents accidental movement and removes power from the system. -
Prepare a safe work area.
Clear space around the chair and lay a soft blanket to protect finishes. If you need to tilt or move the recliner, use safe lifting technique and ask for help if it is heavy. Do not strain yourself. -
Take a “before” photo.
Photograph the existing sensors, control box and cable routing. This reference will help when reconnecting the new kit. -
Remove the old components.
Locate the current touch sensors and control box. Remove any trim or access panels as required. Undo the sensor fixings from behind the upholstery, then unplug the connectors to the old control box and actuator. -
Fit the new touch sensors.
Insert each chrome sensor through the mounting holes. Use the supplied nuts on the 31 mm threaded shafts to secure behind the upholstery. Tighten until snug. Do not overtighten. -
Connect the sensor leads.
On the control box pigtails, connect red to white and black to black using the push-fit connectors. Ensure each connector clicks fully into place. -
Mount the control box.
Position the control box (86 mm × 45 mm × 33 mm) on the frame where it will not foul moving parts. Fix using screws or cable ties (not supplied). -
Connect the actuator cable.
Route the 2000 mm lead neatly and plug the straight 5-pin DIN into the actuator. The retaining lugs should click into place. Avoid sharp bends and pinch points. -
Tidy the cabling.
Bundle excess length and secure with cable ties. Keep all wiring clear of hinges, scissor arms and mechanisms. -
Restore power and test.
Reconnect the transformer to mains power. Lightly touch each sensor to confirm smooth up and down operation. If movement is reversed, recheck the red to white and black to black connections. -
Refit panels and final check.
Reinstall any covers. Operate the recliner through a full cycle to confirm there are no cable snags or unusual noises.
Safety Tips
- Always disconnect from power before working on the chair.
