How to Replace the Mulin ML18-026 Recliner Actuator
Before starting, confirm the replacement actuator is marked ML18-026 and that its three plugs and mounting arrangement match the original. The mounting pins, actuator linking rod and R-clips are not supplied and must be reused.
- Close the recliner completely, disconnect it from mains power and remove the power supply from the wall socket.
- Carefully position the furniture so you can safely access the actuator underneath. Ask another person for assistance if the furniture is heavy.
- Photograph the original actuator, cable routing, electrical connections and mounting points for reference.
- Release the retaining lock buckles and disconnect the male 2-pin OI, female 5-pin DIN and female 2-pin OI plugs without pulling on the cables.
- Remove the R-clips, rear actuator pin and moving-block linking rod. Keep this mounting hardware for the replacement actuator.
- Remove the original actuator, then position the new ML18-026 in the same direction with its cables following the original routing.
- Reconnect the rear mount and moving-block bracket using the original actuator pin, linking rod and R-clips. Confirm every connection is fully secured.
- Reconnect all three electrical plugs and engage the retaining lock buckles. Ensure the cables are clear of moving metalwork and pinch points.
- Return the furniture to its normal position, reconnect the power and briefly test the recliner in both directions while checking for smooth movement.
Important: Keep hands, clothing and cables clear of the recliner mechanism during testing. Stop immediately if the actuator binds, makes an unusual noise or moves the mechanism incorrectly, then recheck the mounting position and connections.
