Polished Nickel Mounted Switch with Vertical USB-A Charger
Restore effortless motion control and add device charging to your favourite reclining seat with the Mulin MLSK14-C two-button switch. Its polished-nickel snap-on bezel and matching buttons deliver a premium look, while the reversible oval plate (≈90mm × 45mm) lets you mount it on either arm. A 1550mm lead terminates in the industry-standard 5-pin DIN male plug for true plug-and-play replacement. Powered from your chair’s existing 29V transformer, the integrated converter supplies a steady 5V ⎓ 2A through the vertical USB-A port—perfect for phones and tablets while you relax.
Check Your Plug – 5-Pin DIN Compatibility
Most modern recliners and lift chairs use the round 5-pin DIN control socket. Before ordering, simply count the pins on your original plug or compare shapes with our photo in the gallery. If your handset or switch uses a 2-, 7- or 8-pin connector, browse our complete range of recliner button switches (click here) or ask us for help.

Step-by-Step Replacement Guide – Mulin MLSK14-C Switch
Approx. time: 5 – 10 minutes • Basic hand tools only
- SAFETY & SET-UP ⚠️
Turn the chair off at the wall socket and unplug the transformer.
Disconnect the transformer from the chair (2-pin “OI” plug) so it is completely de-energised.
Clear a safe workspace and—if the recliner is heavy—ask a helper; safe lifting prevents back strain. - TAKE A “BEFORE” PHOTO 📸
With your phone, photograph the old switch in place: bezel orientation, screw positions and cable routing. A quick reference photo makes re-assembly fool-proof. - REMOVE THE OLD SWITCH
• Pry off the trim bezel with a plastic trim tool or fingernail (it simply unclips).
• Remove the two hidden screws with a Phillips #2 screwdriver.
• Ease the switch out just far enough to reach the 5-pin DIN plug—do not yank the cable.
• Trace the lead to its socket and unplug with a straight pull. - POSITION THE NEW MLSK14-C
• Feed the new 1550 mm lead through the same cable path.
• Align the polished-nickel plate so the vertical USB-A port faces up.
• Insert the two screws finger-tight, then nip up—avoid overtightening into timber frames. - RECONNECT & TEST
• Push the 5-pin DIN plug firmly into the chair’s control socket (you should feel a positive click).
• Re-connect the transformer and switch the wall outlet on.
• Operate the ⬆ / ⬇ buttons to confirm smooth motion.
• Plug in a phone to verify steady 5 V USB charging. - CLIP ON THE BEZEL & FINAL CHECK
• Snap the nickel bezel back over the screws so it sits flush.
• Tuck any excess lead clear of moving parts.
• Cycle the mechanism once more while listening for unusual sounds. - CLEAN UP & ENJOY
• Recycle the old switch responsibly (e-waste).
• Return the recliner to position, ensuring power cables are clear.
• Sit back, relax and enjoy the satisfaction of a DIY job well done—you’ve saved time, money and landfill!

FAQs
FAQs
How can I confirm the MLSK14-C will fit my chair?
Check two things: (a) the control plug on your existing switch must be the round 5-pin DIN style—count the pins; and (b) your switch should have just two momentary buttons (open / close). If both match, the MLSK14-C is a plug-and-play swap, even if your original part number ends in C11 or looks black instead of polished nickel.
Do I need special tools or electrical skills?
No. A basic Phillips screwdriver and (optionally) a plastic trim tool are all that’s required. You simply unplug the old DIN connector, screw the new switch in, and plug it back in. The low-voltage control harness is pre-wired, so no soldering or wiring know-how is needed.
Can this polished-nickel version be fitted on either left or right arm?
Yes. The oval face plate is fully reversible: just rotate it so the USB-A port sits vertically and the buttons feel comfortable, then fasten the same two screws. One part number covers both arm orientations.
Will the USB port keep charging while the chair is moving?
Absolutely. The switch houses its own 29 V → 5 V converter, so the USB-A outlet delivers a steady 5 V 2 A even when the motor is drawing power. Ideal for phones or tablets during long movie sessions.
My old switch has a 7-pin (or 8-pin) plug—can I still use this part?
Unfortunately no; plug styles are not cross-compatible. Browse our range of 7-pin and 8-pin seat switches or send us a photo of yours via chat and our tech team will point you to the correct replacement.
