Okin Phoenix Mecano SP2-B1 2 Pin Recliner Power Supply with Battery Backup
This Okin Phoenix Mecano SP2-B1 3.00.209.032.00 AC/DC switching power supply transformer is commonly used in electric recliners, lift chairs, tilt recliners, powered sofas and theatre lounges. It outputs 29V 2.0A and connects to the recliner using the common 2 pin OI style plug connection, with one round pin and one flat blade.
This model has a built in compartment for 2 x 9V batteries, allowing emergency closure during a power outage when batteries are fitted. It also has a green LED indicator light to show when DC power is on, and mounting plates at both ends of the transformer body (batteries not supplied).
Emergency 9V Battery Backup for Power Outages
The 9V battery compartment is designed for emergency closure only. This means the batteries can help close the recliner or lift chair if mains power is unavailable, helping return the chair to a safer seated position during a power outage.
The batteries are not intended to operate the recliner as a cordless or free standing battery powered chair. Once the emergency battery power has been used, the batteries should be replaced. If the emergency function has not been used, we still recommend replacing the batteries every 12 months.
Please note that 9V batteries are not supplied with this transformer.
Supplied as the Transformer Brick Only
This product is supplied as the Okin Phoenix Mecano SP2-B1 transformer brick only, unless extra cable options are selected before checkout. The wall power cable, 2 pin OI recliner cable and 9V batteries are not included as standard.
If your existing wall power cable and OI recliner cable are still safe, undamaged and fitting firmly, you may be able to reuse them with this replacement transformer.
Need a complete replacement setup? Use the add on options near the add to cart button to select the extra cables you need before checkout. Depending on your repair, you may choose to add a figure 8 wall power cable, a 2 pin OI recliner cable, or both.
Older SP2-B Label? This Is Commonly Matched to SP2-B1
Some older Okin power supply units may show SP2-B on the label, while the current replacement is commonly identified as SP2-B1. This transformer is also commonly matched against related model numbers and label identifiers including PD-21, W52RA76-290018, JLDP.10.064.000, GS0580290022B and JLDP.10.014.000.
Before ordering, please compare your original power supply label, output rating, plug type and physical shape. The key details to check are:

Recliner side connection: 2 pin OI socket, with round pin and flat blade
Wall side connection: figure 8 / C8 power cable socket
Battery compartment: 2 x 9V batteries
Approximate size: 190mm long x 72mm wide x 43mm deep
Mounting style: mounting plates at both ends
Do It Yourself and Save Time & Money
Replacing a recliner power supply transformer is usually a simple do it yourself repair. The cables use push together plug connections, so no electrical wiring is required. Before removing your old transformer, take a quick photo of the cable layout so you have a reference when fitting the replacement.
Always switch the power off at the wall before unplugging or replacing any recliner electrical parts. Check your cables for crushing, cuts, loose plugs or heat damage, and replace any damaged leads rather than reusing them.
If you are unsure whether this is the correct power supply for your recliner, lift chair or powered sofa, contact us with photos of your old transformer label and plug connections. We are here to help you match the right replacement part so you can do the repair yourself and get your chair working again.

How To Replace the Okin SP2-B1 Recliner Power Supply Transformer
Replacing this Okin Phoenix Mecano SP2-B1 transformer is usually a simple plug together repair. No electrical wiring is required, but you should always work safely around powered furniture and disconnect the recliner from wall power before starting.
Before You Start
- Switch the recliner off at the wall and unplug the wall power cable.
- Take a clear photo of the old transformer, cable layout and plug connections before removing anything.
- Use safe lifting techniques when moving or tilting the recliner. Get help if the chair or lounge is heavy.
- Do not place yourself under a recliner mechanism unless the furniture is stable and safely supported.
- Check your existing wall cable and 2 pin OI recliner cable for cuts, crushing, loose plugs, heat marks or exposed wiring.
Step By Step Installation
- Locate the old power supply transformer, usually positioned behind the recliner, underneath the chair or near the rear of the lift chair frame.
- Unplug the figure 8 / C8 wall power cable from the old transformer.
- Unplug the 2 pin OI recliner cable from the old transformer. This is the cable with one round pin and one flat blade style connection.
- If the old transformer is secured to the frame using the mounting plates, remove the screws and keep them aside if they are suitable to reuse.
- Position the new Okin SP2-B1 transformer in the same general location as the old unit, with the cable sockets easy to access and not under strain.
- If required, fasten the mounting plates at each end of the transformer body back to the frame using suitable screws.
- Plug the 2 pin OI recliner cable firmly into the transformer.
- Plug the figure 8 / C8 wall power cable into the transformer.
- Reconnect the wall power cable to the wall outlet and switch the power on.
- Check that the green LED indicator light is on, showing that DC power is being supplied.
- Test the recliner, lift or tilt function using the handset or switch.
Installing the 9V Emergency Backup Batteries
This transformer has a compartment for 2 x 9V batteries. Batteries are not supplied with the transformer and must be fitted separately if you want the emergency closure function available.
- Make sure the recliner is switched off at the wall before opening the battery compartment.
- Open the battery compartment cover on the transformer.
- Fit 2 x standard 9V batteries, making sure the battery terminals are connected correctly.
- Close the battery compartment securely.
- Reconnect wall power and test normal recliner operation from mains power.
The 9V batteries are for emergency closure during a power outage only. They are not intended to run the recliner as a cordless or free standing battery operated chair. Once the emergency battery power has been used, replace the batteries. If they have not been used, replace them every 12 months, whichever comes sooner.
Important Safety and Fitment Notes
- Do not use this battery backup transformer with 2 pin splitter cables.
- Do not open the transformer casing or attempt to repair internal electrical components.
- Do not reuse damaged, crushed, loose or heat marked cables.
- Keep cables clear of moving recliner mechanisms, pinch points and sharp metal edges.
- If the recliner still does not work after fitting the transformer, the fault may be with the cable, handset, switch, junction box, actuator motor or another electrical component.

FAQs
FAQs
Is the Okin SP2-B the same as the SP2-B1 transformer?
The Okin SP2-B1 is commonly matched to older SP2-B labelled recliner power supplies. If your original transformer label shows SP2-B, compare the output rating, plug type, battery backup compartment and physical size before ordering. This SP2-B1 version outputs DC 29V 2.0A and uses the 2 pin OI recliner connection.
What is the 9V battery compartment for on an Okin SP2-B1 recliner transformer?
The 9V battery compartment is for emergency closure during a power outage. When 2 x 9V batteries are fitted, they can help close the recliner or lift chair if mains power is unavailable. The batteries are not for everyday cordless use and do not turn the recliner into a battery operated chair.
Does the Okin Phoenix Mecano SP2-B1 transformer come with cables and batteries?
No. This product is supplied as the transformer brick only unless extra cable options are selected before checkout. The wall power cable, 2 pin OI recliner cable and 9V batteries are not included as standard. If your original cables are safe, undamaged and still fit firmly, you may be able to reuse them
Will this SP2-B1 power supply fit my electric lift chair or tilt recliner?
This transformer is commonly used in electric lift chairs, tilt recliners, powered recliners and electric sofas. To check fitment, match your original power supply label, DC 29V 2.0A output, 2 pin OI recliner plug, figure 8 / C8 wall cable socket, 9V battery compartment and approximate 190mm x 72mm x 43mm size.
Can I use a splitter cable with this recliner power supply?
No, we do not recommend using this battery backup style transformer with 2 pin splitter cables. Splitter cables are normally used to power two recliner actions from one transformer, but they are not suitable for this SP2-B1 emergency battery backup model. Use a standard non battery backup transformer setup if you need a splitter cable.
