Description

3 Way Electric Recliner Power Splitter Cable – OI 2 Pin

This 3 way OI 2 pin DC splitter cable allows you to power up to three electric recliner seats from a single AC/DC transformer. Designed specifically for 3 seater lounges, sectional sofas and home theatre seating, it provides a clean and efficient power solution without the need for multiple transformers or wall outlets.

The cable features a 0.5 metre main lead with a 2 pin male plug that connects to your power supply, and splits into three 2 metre female leads. This extended reach makes it easy to connect the left, centre and right recliner seats, even on larger lounge setups.

Perfect to connect three electric recliners where wall socket space is sparse or only one transformer power supply is available. Quick and simple to do fit with no tools required, no handyman experience is required and can be fitted in under 2 minutes.

Powering Multiple Recliners from One Transformer

Using a single transformer to power multiple recliner seats is a convenient and cost-effective solution. This 3 way splitter cable reduces cable clutter and frees up wall outlets while simplifying your lounge setup.

When powering multiple seats, it is important to ensure your transformer has sufficient output capacity to handle the combined load of all connected components. If you are unsure, feel free to contact us and we can help you choose the right power solution.

We also stock a wide range of recliner power supply transformers (click here) and accessories if you need to upgrade or complete your setup.

Secure Locking Connectors for Reliable Power

Built with practical, real-world use in mind, this cable includes locking features on both ends to ensure a firm connection. The male 2 pin plug is fitted with lock buckle tabs to securely connect to your transformer, while each of the three female connectors includes retaining lock clasps to keep them firmly attached to your recliner components.

This secure fit helps prevent accidental disconnections during use, movement or cleaning, ensuring consistent and reliable power delivery to all connected seats.

Universal Compatibility with 2 Pin OI Systems

This splitter cable is designed to suit the industry standard 2 pin OI connector system, featuring one round pin and one flat pin. It is compatible with most electric recliner brands and systems that use this common connection type, making it a versatile replacement or upgrade option.

If your existing setup uses the same 2 pin configuration, this cable will provide a straightforward plug and play solution with no wiring or modifications required.

Save Time & Money Do It Yourself

Installing this recliner power splitter cable is quick and easy, with no tools or prior experience required. Simply connect the male plug to your transformer and attach each of the three female connectors to your recliner components.

How To Install the 3 Way OI 2 Pin DC Power Splitter Cable

Installing this 3 way recliner power cable is quick and easy to do yourself. No special tools or electrical experience are required. The cable is designed to connect one AC/DC power adapter to three electric recliner seats using the standard 2 pin OI plug system.

  1. Turn off and unplug the power supply.
Before starting, switch off the recliner at the wall and unplug the AC/DC transformer from the power outlet.
  2. Locate the existing power connection.
Find the 2 pin DC output plug from your transformer underneath the lounge. You may need to trace the cable from the transformer to the recliner seat wiring.
  3. Connect the male plug to the transformer.
Insert the male 2 pin OI plug of this splitter cable into the matching transformer socket. The lock buckle tabs should click into place for a secure connection.
  4. Run the three splitter leads to each recliner seat.
Position the three 2 metre female leads so that one reaches each powered recliner seat. Make sure the cables are routed neatly and kept clear of moving parts in the mechanism.
  5. Connect each female plug to the recliner seat wiring.
Attach each female 2 pin OI connector to the matching male plug on each recliner seat. The retaining lock clasps should fasten securely to help prevent accidental disconnection.
  6. Check cable placement.
Confirm that all cables have enough slack for normal recliner movement, but are not hanging loosely where they could be pinched, stretched or damaged.
  7. Restore power and test the recliners.
Plug the transformer back into the wall outlet and test each recliner seat one at a time to make sure all connections are secure and working correctly.

Important: When powering three recliner seats from one transformer, make sure your AC/DC power adapter has sufficient output capacity for the combined load of all connected seats.

FAQs

FAQs

Will my current transformer be suitable for this 3 way splitter cable?

It depends on the output rating (amps) of your transformer and how many motors your lounge has. Most standard transformers are 2.0A, which is generally suitable for 1–2 motors. For 3 recliner seats, especially if more than one seat is used at the same time, a higher output transformer (around 2.5A to 5.0A depending on the setup) is recommended. If the transformer is underpowered, the recliners may operate slowly or stop under load. Contact us if you're unsure and we can help you choose the right option.

Is this cable compatible with my recliner?

This cable suits most electric recliners that use the standard 2 pin OI connection (one round pin and one flat pin). If your existing cable uses this same plug type, it will be compatible.

Can I use this to power three recliners at the same time?

Yes, this cable is designed to power three recliner seats from one transformer. Just ensure your transformer has enough output capacity to handle all connected seats for smooth operation.

Do I need any tools to install this cable?

No tools are required. It’s a simple plug and play installation with secure locking connectors that click into place.

Will the cable reach all seats on my lounge?

Yes, the cable is designed for this purpose. It has a 0.5 metre main lead and three 2 metre splitter leads, which is suitable for most 3 seater and modular recliner lounges.

The product is the same as the original. Easy to install and great fast service from Sofa Rehab. The coiled plastic on the original part was disintegrating exposing the wires and now with the new control part the chair is as good as new!!

Just what I needed. My local La-Z-Boy store (where I bought my sofa) apparently doesn't sell extension leads but we're happy to sell me some internal power source for $150 or something. Thankfully, Sofa Rehab had this which was all l needed and they shipped it so quickly!
