Installation Guide
Follow these steps to safely replace and install the RMT RG00100188 (M/N RK23300188X000) seat mounted 2 button switch:
1. Unplug the recliner from the power outlet before starting. This ensures your safety when handling electrical parts.
2. Position the chair safely. If you need to tip the recliner onto its side, always use safe lifting techniques. Bend your knees, keep your back straight, and avoid twisting while lifting. Ask for assistance if the chair is heavy.
3. Take a reference photo. Before removing the old switch, take a clear picture of how it is fitted and how the plug is connected. This can be used to check the orientation when fitting the new switch.
4. Locate the old switch on the seat side or armrest and remove the clip-on screw cover.
5. Unscrew the two mounting screws with a standard screwdriver and carefully remove the rear clamp plate.
6. Disconnect the 5 pin DIN plug from the motor or control box, using your photo if needed to confirm correct orientation later.
7. Insert the new switch into the cut-out, align the clamp plate at the rear, and tighten the two screws securely.
8. Reconnect the 90° 5 pin DIN plug to the motor or control unit and snap the screw cover back into place for a tidy finish.
9. Return the chair carefully to its upright position, again using proper lifting technique or a second person to assist if required.
10. Plug the recliner back into the mains and test both buttons to confirm smooth operation.
Installation usually takes less than 20 minutes and requires only a screwdriver and possibly a few basic upholstery tools. By taking a reference photo and following safe lifting practices, you can complete this DIY repair with confidence and avoid injury.
