Description
5/16" Thread T-Nut Insert – 17.5mm Length for Deeper Timber Fixings
This 5/16″ thread x 17.5mm long metal T-Nut is designed for applications requiring a deeper and more secure threaded anchor in timber. The extended barrel length allows for increased contact within the wood, providing improved holding strength compared to shorter inserts.
Zinc plated for corrosion resistance, this T-Nut delivers a durable internal thread for repeated bolt use without damaging the timber. The 4 prong design helps secure the insert firmly in place, reducing the risk of rotation or pull-out.
Ideal for Furniture, Upholstery and Structural Timber Applications
This longer T-Nut is commonly used where additional holding strength is required, such as securing sofa legs, recliner components, castors, and structural fittings in thicker timber frames.
It is also suitable for cabinetry, joinery, workshop builds, and general timber construction where a deeper threaded insert is beneficial. A great option when replacing damaged or pulled-out fittings that require a stronger solution.
Installation Guide and Size Selection
This T-Nut suits 5/16″ thread bolts and features a 17.5mm long barrel. Installation requires a hole approximately 10–12mm in diameter and sufficient timber depth to accommodate the longer insert.
The prongs are designed to bite into the timber when tapped into place, helping to lock the insert securely. Installation is typically carried out from the rear side of the timber panel for best results.
We also stock shorter 5/16″ versions and 3/8″ thread options. If your timber is thinner or your bolt size differs, consider these alternatives or contact us for guidance.
