Wall Mount Recliner Power Adaptor 29V 2.0A
This universal wall mount AC/DC power adaptor is used to power electric recliner chairs, powered sofas, theatre lounges and lift chairs that use a matching 2 pin OI style power socket. The AU/NZ option is model RS0602-290200-AU and is made for Australian and New Zealand wall points.
The adaptor has a 100-240V input and a 29.0V 2.0A output with a 58.0W rating. It includes a fixed 2,520mm cable measured including the OI plug, giving you a practical reach from the wall point to the recliner power socket. A green LED power indicator shows when the adaptor is receiving power.
A US/CA version is also available to select if your recliner is being used with a United States or Canadian wall point. The US/CA option is model RS0602-290200-US and uses the same 29V 2.0A output specification.
Wall Mount Style, Not a Floor Mount Transformer Brick
This product is the wall mount style recliner power adaptor, meaning the power supply plugs directly into the wall point and the recliner lead is fixed to the adaptor body. It is different from the floor mount transformer brick style, which normally uses a separate wall power cord and a separate low voltage OI extension lead.
If your original power supply sits on the floor as a separate black transformer box, this wall mount version may not be the same style as your original part. It may still be suitable in some setups, but you should check the voltage, output rating, plug shape and cable reach before ordering.
If you need the floor mount transformer brick style, a complete 3 piece transformer set, a battery backup transformer, or another plug type, please see our full range of recliner power supply transformers (click here).
Check the Right Angle 2 Pin OI Plug Before Ordering
The furniture side plug on this adaptor is a stadium shaped right angle female 2 pin OI plug. It is made to push into a matching socket, usually located on the rear arm carcass, rear panel area, or seat frame of the recliner.
This OI plug does not have retaining clasp clips or locating pegs. Before ordering, compare your original plug and the socket on your furniture to make sure this push fit right angle plug is the style you need.
The most important checks are the output rating, the plug shape, the wall plug version and whether your furniture needs a plug with retaining clips. If you are not sure, contact us with photos of your old power adaptor label and the recliner side plug so we can help you choose the right replacement.
Internal Splitter Use Only
This adaptor is not recommended for external splitter cables because the right angle OI plug does not have retaining clasp clips or locating pegs. External splitter leads are normally better suited to transformer setups where the plugs can clip together securely.
This adaptor can run two recliners where the lounge has an internal splitter cable already built into the furniture. In that setup, the adaptor plugs into the furniture’s main power socket and the internal wiring handles the split between recliner mechanisms.
If you are trying to power two recliners from an external Y splitter lead, we recommend choosing a suitable floor mount transformer and compatible splitter cable instead.
Do It Yourself and Save Time and Money
Replacing a recliner power adaptor is usually a simple DIY job once you have confirmed the correct voltage, output rating and plug shape. Unplug the old adaptor from the wall, disconnect it from the recliner, then fit the new adaptor into the matching furniture socket.
No special tools or trade experience are required for a like for like replacement. Taking a few minutes to check the label and plug style before ordering can save the cost and frustration of buying the wrong power supply.

How To Replace a Wall Mount Electric Recliner Power Adaptor
This tutorial explains how to replace a wall mount style electric recliner power adaptor with a matching 29V 2.0A recliner adaptor. This replacement is suitable when your recliner, powered sofa, theatre lounge or lift chair uses the same right angle female 2 pin OI plug.
Before fitting the new adaptor, make sure the output rating and plug shape match your original power supply. This adaptor is the wall mount style, not the floor mount transformer brick style.
Before You Start
- Unplug the old power adaptor from the wall point before handling any cables.
- Check the label on your old adaptor and confirm the output is 29V DC and close to 2.0A.
- Compare the recliner side plug with your original cable.
- Confirm your furniture uses a stadium shaped right angle female 2 pin OI plug.
- Do not use this adaptor outdoors or in wet areas.
Step 1: Locate the Recliner Power Socket
Move the recliner or lounge forward carefully so you can access the rear or underside of the furniture. The power socket is usually located on the rear arm carcass, rear panel area, or seat frame.
Look for the socket where the old power adaptor plugs into the furniture. Take note of how the right angle OI plug is positioned before removing it.
Step 2: Disconnect the Old Power Adaptor
Switch off the wall point and unplug the old adaptor from the wall. Then disconnect the furniture side plug from the recliner socket.
Do not pull from the cable itself. Hold the plug body and gently remove it from the socket to avoid damaging the wiring or socket housing.
Step 3: Compare the Old and New Adaptor
Before plugging in the new adaptor, compare the following details:
- The output rating should be 29.0V 2.0A.
- The furniture side plug should be a stadium shaped right angle female 2 pin OI plug.
- The new adaptor cable should comfortably reach from the wall point to the recliner socket.
- The plug style should suit a push fit socket with no retaining clasp or locating pegs.
If your old plug has retaining clips, clasp tabs or locating pegs, check carefully before proceeding. This adaptor does not have a retaining clasp or locating pegs.
Step 4: Connect the New Adaptor to the Recliner
Push the right angle female 2 pin OI plug into the matching socket on the furniture. The plug should fit firmly into the socket without forcing it.
If the plug does not line up easily, stop and check the plug shape and pin orientation. Forcing the wrong plug into the socket may damage the furniture wiring or the adaptor.
Step 5: Plug the Adaptor into the Wall Point
Once the furniture side plug is connected, plug the wall mount adaptor into the wall point. Switch on the wall point and check that the green LED power indicator lights up.
The green light shows that the adaptor is receiving power from the wall point.
Step 6: Test the Recliner
Use the recliner switch, handset or control buttons to test the open and close function. Run the recliner through a short movement first, then return it to the closed position.
If the recliner works correctly, make sure the cable is not pinched, stretched, crushed or sitting where it may be caught by the recliner mechanism.
Important Splitter Cable Note
This wall mount adaptor is not recommended for use with external splitter cables because the right angle OI plug does not have retaining clasp clips or locating pegs.
It can run two recliners where the lounge has an internal splitter cable already built into the furniture. In that setup, the adaptor connects to the furniture’s main power socket and the internal wiring handles the split between recliner mechanisms.
If you are trying to power two separate recliners with an external Y splitter lead, choose a suitable floor mount transformer and compatible splitter cable instead.
Troubleshooting
- No green light: Check the wall point is switched on and test another power outlet.
- Green light is on but recliner does not move: Check the furniture side OI plug is fully pushed into the socket.
- Plug does not fit: Stop and compare the plug shape with your original adaptor. You may need a different recliner power supply.
- Recliner only works sometimes: Check for loose connections, damaged sockets, crushed cables or a faulty recliner switch.

FAQs
FAQs
Will this universal power adaptor fit my electric recliner chair?
This universal recliner power adaptor will suit many electric recliner chairs, powered sofas, theatre lounges and lift chairs that use a matching 29V 2.0A power supply and a stadium shaped right angle female 2 pin OI plug. Before ordering, check the label on your old adaptor and compare the furniture side plug to make sure the voltage, amperage and plug shape match.
What is the difference between a wall mount recliner power adaptor and a floor mount transformer?
A wall mount recliner power adaptor plugs directly into the wall point and has the low voltage recliner cable fixed to the adaptor body. A floor mount transformer is the separate brick style power supply that usually sits on the floor and connects using separate power leads. This product is the wall mount style, so it is best for replacing the same style of recliner adaptor.
Does this recliner power adapter replace model RS0602-290200-AU?
Yes, the AU/NZ version of this wall mount recliner power adaptor is model RS0602-290200-AU. It has a 100-240V input, 29.0V 2.0A output, 58.0W rating and a fixed 2,520mm cable with a right angle female 2 pin OI plug. Always compare the plug shape and output rating before ordering.
Can I buy the US or Canadian version of this recliner power supply?
Yes, this product is available in both AU/NZ and US/CA wall plug options. The US/CAN version is model RS0602-290200-US and uses the same 29V 2.0A output specification as the AU/NZ version. Select the correct version for the wall power outlet used in your country.
Can this 29V 2A recliner adaptor power two recliners?
This adaptor can run two recliners when the lounge has an internal splitter cable already built into the furniture. It is not recommended for external Y splitter cables because the right angle OI plug does not have retaining clasp clips or locating pegs. For external splitter setups, a floor mount transformer with compatible clasp style OI leads is usually the better option.
