How To Install the Kaidi KDH127-021 Recliner Switch
Tools Needed: Phillips head screwdriver, flashlight or work light, phone or camera (to take a reference photo), optional cable ties.
Important Safety Notes: Always disconnect power before working on electrical parts. Use safe lifting techniques when moving or tipping the chair.
-
Unplug the recliner from power.
Remove the AC plug from the wall outlet and wait 60 seconds before starting. This prevents accidental activation while you are working.
-
Prepare a clear workspace.
Move the chair to an open area with good lighting. If you need to tip the recliner, use safe lifting techniques (bend your knees, keep your back straight, avoid twisting). Ask for help if the chair is heavy.
-
Take a reference photo.
Before touching any wiring, take a clear photo of the existing switch, the connectors and the cable routing. This will help you reconnect everything the same way.
-
Remove the old switch.
Locate the switch on the outside arm. Carefully pry off the removable screw cover if fitted, then undo the mounting screws with a Phillips screwdriver. Gently pull the switch outward to access the connectors.
-
Disconnect the cables.
Unplug the straight 5 pin DIN male connector with lock tabs and the USB transformer lead. Press any lock tabs to release the plugs without force. Note the orientation shown in your photo.
-
Prepare the new switch.
Confirm the model number KDH127-021 and manufacturer code MPJLDQ0630b. Check the supplied screws are present. Inspect the leads: approximately 1385 mm 5 pin DIN lead and 530 mm USB transformer lead (not including the transformer).
-
Connect the new switch.
Plug in the straight 5 pin DIN connector until the lock tabs click. Connect the detachable USB transformer lead. Route both cables along the original path to avoid pinch points and moving parts. Use optional cable ties for neatness.
-
Mount and tidy.
Seat the switch into the cutout. Install the supplied screws to secure it. Fit the removable screw cover for a neat nickel finish. Ensure the face is flush and buttons move freely.
-
Restore power and test.
Plug the recliner back into the wall outlet. Test both rocker sets (front and rear) for open and close, test the Home button, and confirm USB charging works at 5 V (2 A max). There is no child lock and no backlit buttons on this model.
-
Final safety check.
Verify cables are clear of hinges, scissor arms and actuators. Confirm all screws are tight and the cover is fully seated. Keep your reference photo for future use.
Tip: If any function does not operate, disconnect power, recheck the connector orientation against your photo, and ensure the 5 pin DIN lock tabs are fully engaged.
