Description

Moto Motion CM310 Control Box – OEM Pride & Theorem Recliners

This genuine Moto Motion CM310 control box is the original OEM replacement used in Pride Mobility VivaLift! and Theorem Power Recliners. Stamped “MOTO” on the housing, it’s manufactured by Moto Motion for the Pride Mobility Group. The control box coordinates the four actuators in your powered recliner or lift chair, supplying power to the headrest, backrest, seat base, and lumbar motors through its standard 5-pin colour coded connectors.

Technical Details & Model Information

The CM310-2 model operates on 29v DC 3.0A input, providing smooth and reliable performance across all four motor channels.

  • 1× 2-pin (OI-style) power input
  • 1× 5-pin hand control port
  • 4× 5-pin motor ports (headrest, lumbar, back, base)
  • Two mounting screw holes for securing to the chair frame (screws not included)

Compatible part numbers include CM310, CM310-2, and CTL1707193. It directly replaces earlier Moto Motion control boxes used across many Pride Mobility and Theorem recliners.

Check Your Model Before Ordering

Before purchasing, confirm the model code printed on your existing control box label (for example CM310, CM310-2, or CTL1707193) and count the number of motor plugs to ensure four motor outputs.

Quality OEM Electronics – Built to Last

Because this is the same Moto Motion-made OEM unit supplied with Pride Mobility and Theorem recliners, you’re guaranteed compatibility, reliability and safe operation. Each control box undergoes factory testing to ensure consistent performance, with smooth, quiet relay switching and solid-state protection circuits to prevent overload.

Save Time & Money and Do It Yourself

Replacing a control box takes about five minutes: unplug, unscrew, swap, and you’re done. Follow our step-by-step instructions, enjoy the satisfaction of a successful DIY repair, and keep more money in your pocket for the things you love. How To

How To

How To Replace the Pride Mobility / Theorem Moto Motion CM310 Control Box

Before You Start

  • Unplug the chair from the wall and allow 2 minutes for power to discharge.
  • Take clear photos of the existing control box and cable layout before disconnecting anything. These will help you reconnect the plugs correctly.
  • Ask someone to help lift or tilt the recliner. Use safe lifting techniques—bend your knees, keep your back straight, and lift with your legs.
  • Work on a soft surface such as a rug or blanket to avoid scratches.

Tools You’ll Need

  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Torch or work light
  • Optional: cable ties for tidy routing

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Access the underside of the chair. Tip the recliner carefully onto its side, ensuring it is stable and supported.
  2. Disconnect power. Unplug the low-voltage two-pin cable from the control box and confirm the wall plug is removed.
  3. Photograph connections. Take photos of all cable positions and colours for reference.
  4. Unscrew the old control box. Remove the two screws that hold it to the frame (screws can be reused).
  5. Unplug each connector one at a time. Press the release latch on each plug and pull straight out—do not twist.
  6. Fit the new control box. Place the new CM310 unit in the same position and secure it with the two screws.
  7. Reconnect all cables. Match each plug to its labelled port (Handset, Headrest, Lumbar, Back, Base, Power). Push until fully seated.
  8. Check cable routing. Keep leads away from hinges or moving linkages and secure with cable ties if required.
  9. Return the chair upright. With your helper, lift safely using your legs and place it back in its normal position.
  10. Reconnect power and test. Plug the transformer back in, turn on the wall outlet, and test each function to confirm smooth operation.

Final Checks

  • Operate the chair through its full range while watching the underside to ensure cables stay clear of moving parts.
  • Confirm all plugs are firm and no wires are pinched.
  • Enjoy your fully restored recliner!

FAQs

FAQs

How do I know if this control box will fit my recliner?

Check the label on your existing control box. If it’s marked CM310, CM310-2, or CTL1707193, and your chair uses four motor plugs, this is the correct replacement. It’s commonly fitted to Pride Mobility VivaLift and Theorem power recliners.

What tools do I need to install it?

Usually just a Phillips screwdriver plyers and a torch. No special tools required.

Any safety tips before I start?

Unplug the chair at the wall, take clear photos of all plugs and cable routing, and use safe lifting techniques (bend knees, keep back straight, lift with your legs). Ask someone to help tilt the chair if it’s heavy.

The new box looks slightly different to mine—okay to use?

Yes. Minor cosmetic or label differences (e.g., CM310 vs CM310-2) are normal. As long as the connectors and number of motor ports match, it’s a direct swap.

Are the plugs colour coded?

Yes. The CM310 uses standard Moto Motion colour-coded 5-pin sockets to make connection easy—typically green for base, blue for back, yellow for headrest, and grey for lumbar. Just match each plug colour to the matching port on the new box, or use your reference photos if the colours differ slightly.

First time dealing with this company. The replacement part was well priced, does the job perfectly and arrived without fuss in what I would consider to be short time given current delivery issues in general. No hesitation to give this company further business if the need arises.
