How To Install and Use
- Take a photo before you start. Before removing the old switch, take a clear photo of the switch position, cable route and plug connection so you have a reference when fitting the new one.
- Disconnect the power. Turn off the recliner at the wall and unplug the power supply before working on any electrical recliner parts.
- Practise safe lifting technique. If you need to move, tilt or access underneath the chair or lounge, use safe lifting technique and ask another person to help with heavy furniture.
- Remove the old switch. Unscrew or remove the existing switch from the armrest, then carefully follow the cable to the plug connection.
- Disconnect the plug. Unplug the old 5 pin DIN connector, taking care not to pull on the cable itself.
- Check the mounting hole. Confirm your recliner has a 44mm round cut-out and at least 35mm mounting depth. The visible fascia on this replacement switch is 67mm round.
- Fit the new switch. Feed the cable through the mounting hole and connect the 5 pin 90 degree male DIN plug into the matching socket.
- Secure the switch. Unscrew the brushed chrome fascia to access the 3 screw holes, then secure the switch using suitable screws. Screws are not included.
- Reconnect power and test. Plug the recliner back into power and test the open and close buttons before fully repositioning the furniture.
Using the Switch
This 2 button switch is designed for a single actuator recliner system. One button opens or extends the recliner mechanism, while the other button closes or returns it. Press and hold the required button until the recliner reaches your preferred position, then release the button to stop movement.
If the recliner does not respond after installation, disconnect the power and recheck the plug connection. If you are unsure whether this is the correct replacement switch for your recliner, contact us for help before continuing.

FAQs
FAQs
How do I know if this switch is compatible with my recliner?
You will need to match three key things: the 5 pin DIN plug, the 2 button function for a single motor, and the mounting size (44mm hole with 35mm depth). If you are unsure, send us a photo of your existing switch and plug and we can help confirm.
What does a 2 button recliner switch control?
A 2 button switch controls a single actuator, meaning it operates the recliner open and close functions only. It is commonly used on standard electric recliner chairs, sofas and lift chairs without separate headrest or lumbar controls.
My recliner has power but does not move, will this fix it?
If your recliner has power but does not respond when pressing the buttons, the switch is a common point of failure. However, it could also be the actuator or power supply, so we recommend checking connections or contacting us if you are unsure.
Does this switch come with mounting screws?
No, screws are not included. In most cases, you can reuse the original screws from your existing switch when installing the replacement.
What if the buttons work in reverse?
The switch is symmetrical. If “up” and “down” feel swapped after installation, simply rotate the unit 180 ° in the cut-out and retighten the scrws—no rewiring required.
