How To Install the Kaidi KDH115-009 Recliner Switch
Replacing your electric recliner switch is a straightforward DIY repair that most people can complete in under 15 minutes using only basic hand tools. Before beginning, disconnect the recliner power supply from the wall socket and remove any battery backup connections if fitted.
We strongly recommend taking a few clear photos of your existing switch, plug connections and cable routing before removal. These reference photos can make installation much easier when reconnecting the new switch.
Safe Lifting and Furniture Positioning
Electric recliners and lounges can be heavy, awkward and unstable when tilted. Always use safe lifting practices when accessing the underside or rear of the furniture.
- Disconnect power before moving the furniture.
- Use two people for large recliners, sofas or theatre lounges.
- Lift with your legs, not your back.
- Do not place fingers near moving mechanisms or pinch points.
- Position the recliner on a stable flat surface before working.
- Avoid placing strain on power cables during repositioning.
Removing the Old Recliner Switch
Carefully remove the screw cover from your existing switch to expose the mounting screws. Remove the two fixing screws and gently pull the switch assembly outward from the armrest.
Follow the switch cable inside the furniture to locate the control box and 5 pin DIN plug connection. Disconnect the plug connections carefully and remove the old switch assembly.
Installing the New KDH115-009 Switch
Position the new switch into the existing cut-out and route the cable assembly in the same way as the original installation. Reconnect the white plug to the control box and connect the black 5 pin male DIN plug to the recliner system.
Before securing the switch fully into position, reconnect power temporarily and test all button functions including the USB charging port and both actuator movements.
Once tested, secure the switch using your original mounting screws and refit the removable screw cover for a clean finished appearance.
