How to Install the Battery Extension Cable
This battery extension cable has a simple plug-and-play design and can be installed without tools or technical experience.
- Return the recliner to its upright position: Close the footrest completely before accessing the power connections behind or underneath the recliner.
- Disconnect the existing power supply: Switch off the household power point and unplug the recliner’s existing transformer or power supply.
- Locate the frame connection: Find the matching 2-pin power connection mounted in the sofa frame bracket.
- Connect the extension cable: Push the female 2-pin plug on the extension cable firmly onto the matching frame connection.
- Connect the battery: Attach the opposite end of the extension cable to the compatible recliner battery and secure the connection using the battery’s retaining clasp.
- Position the battery: Place the battery flat on the floor behind the recliner where it will remain dry, stable and clear of the moving mechanism.
- Check the cable position: Make sure the cable is not stretched, twisted, pinched or positioned where it could become caught in the recliner mechanism.
- Test the recliner: Operate the recliner slowly through its full range of movement while checking that the battery remains in place and the cable moves freely.
Important Installation Information
- Only use the cable with a compatible recliner frame connection and recliner battery.
- Do not force the plugs together if their shapes or pin configuration do not match.
- Keep the battery and cable away from moisture, excessive heat and moving mechanism parts.
- Do not use the cable if its plugs, retaining clasp or outer insulation are damaged.
