How to
How to
-
- Disconnect the recliner from power.
Turn the power off at the wall socket and unplug the recliner power supply before starting. Do not work on the switch while the recliner is connected to power. - Move the recliner into a safe working position.
Carefully move the recliner away from the wall so you have enough room to work. Use safe lifting methods and ask another person to help if the chair, sofa or lounge is heavy. - Take a reference photo before removing anything.
Take a clear photo of the existing switch, cable routing and plug connection before disconnecting the old part. This gives you a reference if you need to check how everything was originally fitted. - Remove the old switch fascia.
Carefully remove the front fascia or cover from the existing switch to expose the mounting screws. Keep any reusable screws aside, as mounting screws are not supplied with this replacement switch. - Unscrew and remove the old switch.
Use a screwdriver to remove the mounting screws, then gently pull the switch out from the arm of the recliner. - Disconnect the 5 pin plug.
Follow the switch cable to the plug connection and release the retaining clip or lugs before unplugging it. Do not pull hard on the cable, as this may damage the wiring or socket. - Compare the old and new switch.
Before fitting the replacement, compare the plug type, button layout, fascia size, switch body size and cut-out size to confirm it is suitable for your recliner. - Connect the new switch.
Plug the male 5 pin DIN plug from the new switch into the matching socket, making sure the retaining lugs are properly seated for a secure connection. - Fit the switch into position.
Place the switch into the recliner arm cut-out, making sure the cable is not pinched, crushed or stretched behind the switch. - Secure the switch with screws.
Reuse the original mounting screws if suitable and tighten them gently. Do not overtighten, as this may damage the switch body or furniture panel. - Refit the removable fascia.
Clip the nickel coloured fascia back onto the switch so the mounting screws are hidden and the switch has a neat finished appearance. - Reconnect power and test the switch.
Plug the recliner back into power and test each button function. Check that the recliner operates correctly and that the USB-A and USB-C charging ports are working as expected.
- Disconnect the recliner from power.
