Plastic Linking Clips for Modular Sofas and Lounges
Replace a broken or missing lounge connector that lets the sections of your sectional sofa drift apart. this set uses two plastic mounting plates, a metal rod and a grip plate to join neighbouring sofa sections. This pin ad slot style has been used by many brands including Natuzzi and Ital sofa lounges. Inspect your fittings on your own furniture before ordering, as connector styles can vary within a brand.
One set includes one male plastic plate, one female plastic plate, one metal grip plate, one metal rod and four mounting screws. We strongly recommend two sets per join, typically fitted towards the front and rear of the adjoining sections.
How the Sections Connect and Release
The metal grip plate sits behind the female plate. To join the sectional pieces together, line up the rod with the female slot, then lower the section carrying the rod so the rod slides into the grip plate and holds the sections together. To disconnect the terminals, lift that section with the male rod upwards until it disengages and move the furniture away from the neighbouring section. Ensure you have enough room to manoeuvrer the furniture before you start.

How to Fit Plastic Linking Clips to a Modular Sofa
One set joins two furniture sections at one mounting position. For a secure join, we recommend using two sets: one towards the front and one towards the rear. Before fitting, check that the plates can be mounted on solid timber and that the section carrying the metal rod can be lifted to connect and release it.
- Separate the furniture sections. If replacing existing clips, lift the section carrying the metal rod to disengage it, then pull the sections apart. Remove the old plates and screws.
- Check the mounting positions. Each new plate measures 68 mm wide × 54 mm high. Its two screw holes are 50 mm apart, centre to centre. Behind each plate, there must be a 30 mm diameter opening at least 12 mm deep for the raised moulding. Check that existing openings align before reusing them.
- Prepare new mounting positions if needed. Hold the furniture sections in their intended positions and mark matching locations for the male and female plates. Allow room to lower the metal rod into the female plate and lift it out again. Make the 30 mm opening behind each plate, taking care not to drill through the furniture or into upholstery, wiring or other fittings.
- Fit the female connector. Position the metal grip plate behind the female plastic plate, with its opening aligned to the slot. Seat the plate’s raised moulding in the prepared opening, then secure the assembly with two of the supplied screws.
- Fit the male connector. Screw the metal rod into the threaded fitting on the male plastic plate. Seat the plate’s raised moulding in the opening on the adjoining furniture section and secure the plate with the remaining two screws. Check that the rod lines up with the female slot.
- Join and test the sections. Bring the furniture sections together, guide the rod into the female slot and lower the male side until the rod engages the grip plate. Check that the sections sit together correctly. To release them, lift the male side until the rod disengages, then pull the sections apart.
Fitting tip: If using two sets per join, align and test both connector positions before fully tightening the screws. Do not force the sections together if the rods and slots do not line up.

FAQs
FAQs
How do I stop the sections of my modular sofa from separating?
If your sofa originally used this pin-and-slot connector, replacing worn or broken linking clips may help hold the sections together again. The metal rod lowers through the female plate and engages the grip plate. We recommend two sets per join, usually one towards the front and one towards the rear.
Will these plastic linking clips fit my Natuzzi or Ital Sofa lounge?
This style is commonly found on Natuzzi and Ital Sofa furniture, but connector styles vary between models. Compare your old fittings with the 68 × 54 mm plates, 50 mm screw-hole spacing and 30 mm diameter openings behind both plates before ordering.
What comes in one plastic sofa connector set?
One set contains a male plastic plate, female plastic plate, metal grip plate, threaded metal rod and four 30 mm timber screws. One set makes one connection point between two furniture sections; we recommend two sets for each join.
How do I connect and disconnect a sofa fitted with these clips?
To connect the sections, align the metal rod with the slot in the female plate and lower the side carrying the rod until it engages the grip plate. To disconnect them, lift that side until the rod releases, then pull the sections apart. Allow enough space to lift the furniture section.
Can I add these linking clips to a modular sofa that has no connectors?
Yes, provided there is suitable solid timber for mounting the plates and enough clearance to lift one section into and out of the connection. Each plate also needs a 30 mm diameter opening at least 12 mm deep behind it for its raised moulding. Check the furniture’s construction before drilling.
