DIY Installation Guide – Raffel Junction/Control Box
(Model ICH LR HR TS BLK DIMP‑BDL)
Tools & prep
• Phillips‑head screwdriver
• Torch or good task‑lighting
• Cable‑ties (optional, for neat cable management)
• 5 minutes of clear workspace – and make sure the recliner is unplugged from the wall before you start.
1 . Power down & gain access
Disconnect the 29 V transformer from the mains outlet and from the chair.
Tip the recliner forward onto its arms (or remove the backrest if that’s easier) to expose the underside of the armrest where the cup‑holder wiring lives. Remember to practice safe lifting techniques.
2 . Locate the old junction box
Follow the 2‑pin harness that exits your LED cup holder – about 1 m along you’ll see a small black inline box (Raffel p/n JCT ICH LR).
Note how it’s secured: usually two wood screws into the frame or a single cable‑tie to a loom. Snap a quick photo so you can copy the orientation later.
3 . Disconnect the wiring
Press the locking tab and pull apart the 2‑pin plug that runs to the cup holder.
Do the same with the 5‑pin plug that feeds the recliner motor/actuator.
If a second 2‑pin lead daisy‑chains to another cup or LED strip, unplug that as well.
4 . Remove the old box
Undo the mounting screws or snip the securing tie and lift the junction clear of the frame.
5 . Fit the new control box
Position the replacement box exactly where the old one sat and fasten it with the original screws (or a fresh cable‑tie). Keep the printed part‑number label facing out for future reference.
6 . Reconnect the plugs (they only fit one way)
2‑pin cup holder lead → 2‑pin “LED/KEY” socket on the box.
5‑pin actuator lead → 5‑pin “MOTOR” socket.
(Optional) Aux 2‑pin lead for a slave cup/LED strip → spare 2‑pin socket.
7 . Final checks
Make sure no wires are pinched or rubbing on the mechanism. Tidy extras with cable‑ties.
Set the recliner back upright, reconnect the transformer, then plug the transformer into the wall.
8 . Test & enjoy
The cup’s blue light ring should illuminate. Tap Recline ▲ / ▼ and Head‑rest ▲ / ▼ to verify movement.

Where do I find the model number?

Will this junction box work with my recliner if the cup holder model number is slightly different?
As long as your cup holder is a Raffel ICH‑series unit with the 2‑pin LED feed and 6‑pin motor plug, this control box is a straight swap. Minor suffixes (e.g. BLK, GRY, CHR) only describe bezel colour; the electronics are the same. If you’re unsure, snap a photo of your existing plugs and chat with us.
Do this come with a clear acrylic insert?
No.
Does it come with the cup holder?
No. You will get the junction box and cables only. The cup holder is sold separately through our website.
What connections and power supply does it use?
Two leads exit the cup:
5‑pin male – drives the recline & head‑rest motors via the control box.
2‑pin round‑n‑flat male – powers the LED ring (29 V DC via the chair transformer).
Both are standard Raffel/Okin pattern push‑plugs—no soldering or wiring required.
