How to Replace an Electric Recliner Clevis Fork
- Disconnect all power to the recliner and remove the mains plug from the wall. Double-check that no power remains.
- Place a protective sheet on the floor and carefully tilt the recliner onto its side or front, ensuring you use safe lifting techniques.
- Remove the actuator pin and retaining clip from the broken clevis fork, then unscrew the old clevis.
- Install the new clevis by screwing it onto the actuator rod (right-hand thread).
- Reinstall the actuator pin and retaining clip to secure the new clevis.
- Carefully return the recliner to its original position.
- Reconnect the power and fully test the recliner, ensuring all cables are correctly positioned and not pinched or overstretched.
