3950mAh Cordless Lithium-ion Battery for Electric Recliners
The ZB Power 3950mAh rechargeable Li-ion battery is our mid range capacity option. It allows compatible electric recliners to operate without remaining permanently connected to a wall socket. It is a practical choice when you want greater flexibility in furniture placement and fewer power leads across the floor.
This 25.2V, 99.5Wh battery connects through standard 2-pin OI plugs and includes a digital battery display, low-charge warning and BS-SD charging stand. Manufacturer testing indicates up to approximately 600 complete open-and-close cycles at a 125kg load, with actual performance varying by recliner type, user weight, powered features and usage.
The battery is manufacturer tested for up to approximately 300 complete open-and-close recliner cycles at a 125kg load. This is a guide rather than a guaranteed result, as actual performance depends on the recliner design, number of actuators, user weight, powered accessories, frequency of use and battery condition.

2550mAh Battery for Basic Single Recliners
Choose the Okin BS-17 for a basic single electric recliner with one or two actuators and low demand accessories such as USB-A port. This ZB Power battery is suited to standard or more frequently used single recliners, including models with more features than the basic recliner, such as dual USB ports. and low-to-medium demand console units and for customers wanting longer intervals between charges than the 2550mAh battery.

Check Your Recliner Connections and Powered Features
Before purchasing, check your recliner’s features and plug type, as some model may not be compatible or require an adaptor or connection cable. If unsure, send us a message through our chat service or call us to discuss!
Battery runtime varies with actuator count and powered features such as USB ports, touch controllers and illuminated cup holders.
Note 12V and 240V features are not suitable and other features, including heating, massage, power points and some console functions, may still require mains power. Please contact us if you are unsure.
Set Up, Charging and Using Your Recliner Battery
When your battery arrives, fit it into the charging stand and fully charge it until the display shows 100%. In most cases, you can use the compatible AC/DC transformer already supplied with your recliner. If you do not have a suitable transformer, Sofa Rehab recommend the Mulin Adapter 2.0A (straight plug) charger click here to view.
Once fully charged, locate the recliner’s original AC/DC transformer and disconnect it from the recliner power lead. Connect the battery in its place using the push-fit plugs, along with any additional cables required for your furniture. Once connected, your recliner is ready to operate from battery power.
When recharging is required, you can eave the battery connected to the recliner if a power point is nearby, or remove the battery and place it near a power point for easier charging. Connect the compatible charger and recharge the battery until the display returns to 100%, then reconnect it to the recliner if it was removed.

Battery Performance and Usage Guide
Please use this information as a guide only.
Battery life between charges will vary depending on the recliner, user, powered features and frequency of use. Fully charge the battery before first use, recharge it when the low-charge warning sounds, and recharge at least once every 3 months during extended storage.
Factors that may increase battery use include:
- Multiple actuators
- Headrest and lumbar functions
- USB-A and USB-C charging
- Illuminated cup holders, LED lights and touch controls
- Bluetooth and other powered accessories
- Heavier users and larger furniture
- Frequent or repeated recliner operation
- Temperature, moisture, dust and poor ventilation
The BS-8B has been manufacturer tested for up to approximately 300 complete open-and-close cycles at a 125kg test load. This is a guide only, and actual performance may be higher or lower depending on use and furniture configuration.
Not Suitable for Battery Operation
Features requiring a separate 12V or 240V power supply cannot be operated from the recliner battery. This includes heated or cooled seats, vibration functions, massage systems and other features powered independently from the recliner’s standard low-voltage system.

How to Install and Use Your ZB Power 3950mAh Recliner Battery
- Fully charge the battery before first use.
Before using the battery to power your recliner, fully charge it using the BS-SD charging stand with a compatible 29V to 31V AC/DC recliner transformer. You can also charge the battery through the USB-C port using a compatible USB-C PD charger rated above 20W. - Switch the recliner off at the wall.
Before disconnecting any plugs, switch the power point off and unplug the recliner’s existing AC/DC transformer from the wall. - Locate your existing AC/DC recliner transformer.
Follow the power lead from the recliner towards the wall and locate the AC/DC transformer. Check the transformer label for an output of between 29V to 31V DC and make sure it uses a compatible 2-pin OI connection. - Check whether your existing transformer is accessible.
On many electric recliners the transformer sits loose on the floor behind the furniture and can easily be disconnected and used for battery charging. On some recliners the AC/DC adapter is caged under the recliner or secured to the furniture frame. - Remove a caged or frame-mounted transformer if required.
If your existing AC/DC transformer is caged under the recliner or secured to the frame, it will need to be removed from its mounting position if you want to use it for recharging the battery. Keep the transformer and its cables available for future charging. If you do not want to remove your existing transformer, you can purchase our AC/DC Battery Charger E-TRAN09 (click here) as a dedicated charging power supply. - Disconnect the recliner from the existing transformer.
Separate the transformer from the recliner at the 2-pin OI connection. Pull the plug housings apart rather than pulling directly on the cables. - Connect the BS-SD charging stand to the recliner.
Connect the matching 2-pin OI plug from the BS-SD charging stand to the recliner’s power connection. Push the connection fully together and make sure the retaining clip is secure where fitted. - Connect your AC/DC transformer to the charging stand.
Connect your compatible 29V to 31V AC/DC recliner transformer, or the Sofa Rehab E-TRAN09 Battery Charger, to the input connection on the BS-SD charging stand. - Dock the battery into the charging stand.
Place the ZB Power battery securely into the BS-SD charging stand. The stand acts as the DC/DC charger and also serves as the mounting base for the battery. - Connect the transformer to the power point and confirm charging.
Plug the AC/DC transformer into the wall and switch the power point on. The battery display will show the charging status. Charging the 3950mAh battery through the BS-SD stand takes approximately 7 hours from flat. - Disconnect the wall power when you want cordless operation.
Once the battery is charged, switch the power point off and disconnect the AC/DC transformer from the charging stand. The battery can remain docked and connected to the recliner to provide cordless power. - Position or mount the battery safely.
The battery and charging stand can be positioned behind or beside the recliner, or the charging stand can be mounted to a suitable part of the furniture frame. If mounted, make sure the battery remains accessible for recharging, checking the display and removal. Keep the battery ventilated and do not position it where the recliner mechanism or moving parts could crush the battery or damage the cables. - Recharge when the low-battery warning sounds.
When the battery gives an audible low-charge warning which is around 10-15% remaining charge, recharge it promptly. Reconnect the compatible AC/DC transformer to the BS-SD charging stand, or remove the battery and use a compatible USB-C PD charger rated above 20W. - Recharge the battery during long periods of non-use.
If the battery is being stored or the recliner is not being used for an extended period, fully recharge the battery at least once every 3 months.

Will this connect to my electric recliner?
Yes, if your recliner uses a matching 2-pin OI industry standard connection. Many electric recliners use this common plug style. If you are unsure, check the plug and transformer label or contact Sofa Rehab with a photo.
How long does it take to charge?
Approximately 7 hours from flat when charged through the included BS-SD charging stand using a compatible 29V to 31V recliner power supply. USB-C PD charging is slower at approximately 11 hours.
How long will the charge last?
The manufacturer rates the BS-8B for up to approximately 300 full open-and-close recliner cycles at a 125kg test load. Actual results can be higher or lower depending on user weight, number of actuators, recliner size, USB use, powered accessories, standby draw and how often the chair is operated.
If I do not have a Lithium Ion battery pack already can I use this one with my existing set up?
Yes. You do not need to already have a battery fitted. If your existing electric recliner is powered from a compatible 29V to 31V AC/DC transformer with a 2-pin OI connection, the battery and charging stand can usually be added to that setup. If your transformer is caged or secured underneath the recliner, it may need to be removed for charging, or you can use our dedicated Mulin AC/DC Battery Charger.
Is this a reliable battery?
Yes. The BS-8B is a rechargeable ZB Power Li-ion battery with a digital charge display, audible low-charge warning, 3,950mAh capacity and a 2-year warranty. Like all lithium batteries, performance depends on correct charging, storage and the electrical demand of the furniture.
How do I charge this lithium battery pack?
The main charging method is through the included BS-SD charging stand using a compatible 29V to 31V AC/DC recliner transformer. Most customers can use the transformer already supplied with their recliner. It can also be charged directly through USB-C using a compatible Power Delivery charger rated above 20W.
Can I run two recliners from this battery?
We do not recommend the 3,950mAh BS-8B for powering two recliners. For a twin or double recliner setup, use the higher-capacity 6,000mAh ZB Power battery with a suitable splitter cable.
Will this work on a recliner lift chair?
We do not recommend the 3,950mAh BS-8B for lift and tilt rise chairs. For compatible lift chairs, use the higher-capacity 6,000mAh ZB Power battery.
