How To Install the 2-Pin Splitter Cable
Replacing or adding a recliner splitter cable is a quick DIY job that only takes a few minutes. No technical experience is needed, and with the correct safe lifting technique you can do this repair yourself without stress. Follow the steps below to connect your new cable safely and correctly.
- Unplug the transformer
Always disconnect the power supply from the wall before working on your recliner. This ensures complete safety while you’re handling electrical plugs. - Prepare the recliners
Move your recliners slightly away from the wall to give yourself access to the rear of each arm. When moving heavy furniture, bend your knees and keep your back straight to protect yourself from injury. If needed, ask someone to help you lift. - Locate the foundation sockets
The female ¾-round sockets on this splitter cable connect into the rear arm sockets of your recliners, not directly into the motors. You’ll find these sockets at the lower back section of each recliner arm. - Connect the splitter cable
Push the two female ¾-round plugs from the splitter into the recliner’s rear arm sockets until they click into place. The retaining clips help keep the connections secure. - Attach the male plug to the transformer
Plug the male 2-pin OI connector (round/flat pin) into your AC/DC transformer. The built-in retaining clip ensures a firm and reliable connection. - Reconnect the power

My recliner has a different shape socket will this fit?
No, this is only compatible with round sockets.
My plug is not completely round will this fit?
Yes, we call this a round plug however as per the pictures show the actual plug does have a flat side to it on one side.
Do I connect the plugs directly to the motors?
No, the female ¾-round plugs connect into the rear arm sockets of your recliners, not the motors. The male plug connects to your transformer power supply.
How far apart can my recliners be placed with this cable?
Each split length is 2000mm (2 metres), giving a total span of up to 4 metres between recliners. This is enough for most twin recliners and modular lounge setups.
Is it safe to install this cable myself?
