How To Install Your Kaidi KDH135-001 Recliner Switch
Replacing this 2 button recliner switch is a straightforward DIY repair for many electric recliner chairs, sofas and lift chairs. Before starting, take a clear photo of your existing switch, cable route and plug connection so you have a reference when installing the new replacement switch.
- Disconnect the power. Unplug the recliner from the wall power outlet before working on any electrical recliner components.
- Move the recliner safely. If you need to tilt or move the chair to access the wiring underneath, use safe lifting techniques. Get another person to help with heavy furniture, keep your back straight, bend at your knees and avoid twisting while lifting.
- Take a reference photo. Photograph the existing switch position, cable path and 5 pin plug connection before removing anything. This makes it easier to reconnect the new switch the same way.
- Remove the fascia cover. Carefully remove the brushed chrome effect fascia from the old switch to expose the mounting screws.
- Unscrew the old switch. Remove the screws holding the existing switch in place. Keep the screws aside, as mounting screws are not supplied with this replacement switch.
- Disconnect the old switch plug. Follow the switch cable to the 5 pin DIN plug connection, release the retaining clasp lugs and disconnect the old switch.
- Fit the new switch into position. Insert the new Kaidi KDH135-001 switch housing into the arm cut-out, making sure the cable is not pinched, stretched or trapped.
- Reconnect the 5 pin plug. Connect the new switch plug into the matching socket, making sure the retaining clasp lugs are properly secured.
- Secure the switch. Reuse your original mounting screws to fasten the switch housing into place, then clip the removable fascia back over the switch.
- Test the recliner. Plug the recliner back into the wall power outlet and test both buttons. Also check the USB-A charging port with a suitable cable and device.
Important: Do not force the plug connection. If the plug, switch shape, cut-out size or wiring layout does not match your original switch, stop and contact us for help before proceeding.
