Genuine KDDY001B Recliner Power Supply + Emergency Battery Backup
The Kaidi KDDY001B is a genuine AC/DC wall powered transformer for electric recliners, lift chairs, powered sofas and lounge suites. It has an output specification of 29.0V 2.0A 58.0W and uses the common 2 pin OI plug with one flat blade and one round pin.
This model has the same power output specifications as the common Kaidi KDDY008B transformer, with the added provision for 2 x 9V batteries to help close the recliner during a power outage. It is a suitable replacement when your original adapter label, output rating and plug type match the KDDY001B, SP2-B or SP2-B1 style power supply.
This universal ac dc power adapter supports 100v to 240v wall power so its suitable for use in all countries.
Not a Standalone Recliner Battery Pack
This product is often confused with a cordless recliner battery pack, but it is not a standalone rechargeable battery. The Kaidi KDDY001B is still a wall powered AC/DC transformer for normal recliner operation.
The 2 x 9V batteries are only there to help close the recliner in an emergency power outage. They will not open the recliner and they will not run the recliner as a cordless power source. Once the emergency battery function has been used, the 9V batteries need to be replaced. If the batteries are fitted but not used, they should still be replaced after 12 months.

What Is Included with This KDDY001B Adapter?

How To Replace a Kaidi KDDY001B Recliner Power Supply
Replacing your Kaidi KDDY001B AC/DC adapter is a simple DIY repair when your old power supply has the same model, output rating and 2 pin OI plug. Before fitting, make sure this is the correct replacement for your recliner, lift chair or powered sofa.
Before You Start
- Disconnect the recliner from wall power before handling any cables.
- Check the label on your old transformer and confirm it matches the 29.0V 2.0A 58.0W output rating.
- Confirm your old plug is the 2 pin OI style with one flat blade and one round pin.
- Check whether you need to reuse your existing wall power lead and OI extension lead, or add new leads to your order.
- Use only 2 x 9V batteries if you want to use the emergency close backup feature. Batteries are not included.
Fitting the Replacement Power Supply
- Unplug the old recliner power supply from the wall socket.
- Follow the power cable from the transformer to the recliner and disconnect the 2 pin OI plug from the recliner lead or splitter cable.
- Remove the old transformer from under or behind the chair.
- Connect your figure 8 C8 wall power lead into the input socket on the Kaidi KDDY001B adapter.
- Connect the 2 pin OI output plug from the new transformer to the matching recliner power lead. Make sure the retaining clasp is seated correctly.
- Plug the wall power lead into the wall socket and switch the power on.
- Check that the green LED indicator light is on.
- Test the recliner using the normal chair buttons or handset controls.
