Description

Okin JLDK.08.03.07 Four Button Touch Sensor Kit

The genuine DewertOkin JLDK.08.03.07 is a complete touch sensor kit designed to operate two actuators in an electric recliner chair or sofa. Depending on the furniture configuration, these may control the footrest and powered headrest or the footrest and powered backrest. Each actuator is operated by its own pair of touch sensors, giving four independent chrome buttons that create a discreet, streamlined finish when installed through the upholstery .

This complete kit includes 4x 14mm round metal touch sensors (with threaded shafts), wiring leads, and the JLDK.08.03.07 control box. It is designed to operate a dual actuator recliner with simple up and down functionality. The system connects via standard 5 pin DIN plug, making it compatible with many common recliner power setups.

Complete Kit with Control Box and Standard Connections

This is a full replacement system, not just the sensors. The included JLDK.08.03.07 control box acts as the central hub, connecting the touch sensors to the actuator.

The touch sensor kit features:

  • 4x chrome touch sensors
  • 1x male 5 pin 90 degree plug

This standard configuration is commonly used across many electric recliner brands and models, making it a versatile replacement option when the model number and plug types match.

How to Fit the JLDK.08.03.07 Touch Sensor Kit into a Seat Cushion Side Wall

These instructions explain how to replace an existing JLDK.08.03.07 touch sensor kit fitted through the upholstered side wall of a recliner seat cushion. Use the existing sensor positions and mounting holes wherever possible.

Important Safety Notice: Disconnect the recliner from the wall power supply before starting. Keep your hands, cables and tools clear of the moving recliner mechanism. Do not work beneath the furniture unless it is stable and properly supported.

Removal and Installation Instructions

  1. Disconnect the power. Unplug the recliner from the wall socket and disconnect any battery backup before working on the electrical system.
  2. Access the inside of the seat cushion side wall. Carefully open or release the underside dust cover or upholstery access area so you can reach the control box, sensor mounting plates and wiring.
  3. Record the original arrangement. Take clear photographs showing the position of both sensor pairs, the red-marked lead, control-box location, cable routing and 5-pin connection before disconnecting anything.
  4. Disconnect the original control. Follow the main cable to its connection point, release any retaining clip if fitted and gently unplug the 5-pin DIN connector by holding the plug body rather than pulling the cable.
  5. Remove the original touch sensors. Support each mounting plate behind the seat cushion side wall while carefully unscrewing the chrome sensors from the outside. Remove both mounting plates and release the old wiring from any clips or cable ties.
  6. Position the new mounting plates. Place each new two-sensor mounting plate behind the upholstered side wall, aligning its threaded sensor positions with the existing 3.5mm mounting holes. Position the red-marked sensor set in the same location as the original.
  7. Fit the four chrome sensors. From the outside of the seat cushion side wall, pass each threaded sensor stem through its existing hole and gently screw it into the mounting plate behind the upholstery.
  8. Tighten the sensors carefully. Hold each mounting plate straight and tighten the sensors evenly by hand until secure. Do not overtighten, crush the upholstery or use pliers on the chrome sensor faces.
  9. Install the control box and route the cables. Position the control box securely inside the furniture and follow the original cable path. Keep all wiring away from actuator movement, hinges, sharp frame edges and other pinch points.
  10. Connect the 5-pin plug. Align the pins correctly and push the right-angled male 5-pin DIN plug into its matching socket without twisting or forcing it. Refit any plug-retaining clip originally used by the furniture.
  11. Test both sensor pairs. Keep everyone and everything clear of the mechanism, reconnect the power and briefly test each sensor. Confirm that one pair operates the footrest and the second pair operates the powered headrest or backrest.
  12. Complete the installation. Disconnect the power again, make any final cable-routing adjustments and secure loose wiring. Refit the dust cover or upholstery access panel before reconnecting the recliner for normal use.
Need Help? If the sensor functions, plug or wiring arrangement differs from your original kit, stop the installation and contact Sofa Rehab. Send us photographs of the original label, sensors, mounting plates and plug so our team can assist.
