How To Install Your Recliner Switch
- Disconnect the power.
Unplug the recliner from the wall power socket before starting. If your recliner has a battery backup, disconnect the battery pack as well. - Move the recliner safely.
Carefully move the recliner to give yourself room to work. Use safe lifting techniques, keep your back straight, bend at the knees and ask another person to help if the chair or lounge is heavy. - Take before photos.
Before unplugging anything, take clear photos of the existing switch, cable routing, plug connection and inline control box location. These photos can help you reinstall the new switch the same way. - Remove the old switch.
Unscrew the existing switch from the side of the recliner. Keep the old screws aside as mounting screws are not supplied with this replacement switch. - Disconnect the old plug.
Follow the cable from the old switch to the 5 pin DIN plug connection. Release the retaining clasp lugs carefully, then disconnect the plug without pulling on the cable itself. - Compare the replacement switch.
Check that the new Kaidi KDH019B-006 switch matches your original switch, including the 5 pin plug, cable style, inline control box, fascia size and cut out requirements. - Fit the new switch into position.
Place the new switch into the existing cut out hole. Ensure the cable and inline control box sit neatly inside the recliner without being pinched, stretched or caught in the moving mechanism. - Secure the switch.
Reuse your original 2 mounting screws to secure the switch fascia to the recliner. Do not overtighten the screws, as this may damage the plastic housing or fascia. - Reconnect the 5 pin plug.
Push the 5 pin male DIN plug into the matching socket and ensure the retaining clasp lugs are properly engaged for a secure connection. - Check the cable path.
Before restoring power, make sure the cable is clear of all moving parts, hinges, scissor mechanisms, lift frames and pinch points. - Reconnect power and test.
Plug the recliner back into the power socket, then test both recliner buttons. Also test the USB-A port with a suitable charging cable and device. - Final safety check.
Operate the recliner through a full open and close cycle while watching the cable path. Stop immediately if any cable is pulling, rubbing, pinching or catching.
