6 Button Kaidi KDH137-009 Recliner Switch with USB Port

This Kaidi KDH137-009 electric recliner switch, also marked with manufacturer code 31100814(Y), is a replacement side switch for compatible power recliner chairs, sofas and theatre lounges. It has a silver fascia, USB-A port, white LED indicator and 6 button control across 3 rocker switches.

The rocker switches operate the footrest and backrest open and close, plus independent lumbar and headrest open and close functions. The USB-A port is rated USB: MAX 2000mA / 5V.

Important Model Numbers, Sticker Codes and Plug Details

Before ordering, please compare this replacement switch with your original switch to ensure it is the correct match. Your existing switch should be marked as Kaidi KDH137-009 and manufacturer code 31100814(Y).

This switch has two leads coming from the switch housing. One lead has a white system plug that connects the switch to the USB control box, with the lead plug and control box measuring 875mm long. The second lead is hard wired into the switch and runs into a splitter joiner box, where 3 actuator cables exit for the footrest and backrest, lumbar and headrest functions.

Each actuator cable has a male 5 pin DIN plug with retaining lugs on the end. Each cable is 1600mm long including the plug. The headrest and lumbar actuator cables have colour coded bands to help identify which cable connects to which actuator.

Universal Layout - This Switch Can Be Installed Either Side

This Kaidi recliner switch can be installed on either side of the furniture, making it suitable for compatible left hand or right hand recliner switch replacements. The button direction and actuator cable routing should still be checked against your original switch and furniture wiring before installation.

The switch requires 2 screws to install. Screws are not supplied, so you may need to reuse your existing screws or source suitable replacements if the originals are missing or damaged.

How To Install The Kaidi KDH137-009 Recliner Switch

Important: Before starting, disconnect the recliner from power at the wall. Do not work on the switch while the furniture is connected to power. Use safe lifting techniques when moving or tilting furniture. Recliners, sofas and theatre lounges can be heavy, so ask another person to help if needed.

  1. Take a before photo.
Before unplugging anything, take clear photos of the original switch, cable routing, plug connections and actuator positions. This gives you a helpful reference when fitting the new switch.
  2. Access the switch and wiring.
Carefully move the furniture to give yourself enough working space. If you need to tilt or lift the furniture, keep your back straight, bend your knees and avoid twisting while lifting. Support the furniture securely before reaching underneath.
  3. Remove the old switch.
Locate the fixing screws holding the original switch in place. Remove the screws and gently pull the switch housing away from the furniture, taking care not to pull hard on the cables.
  4. Compare the old and new switch.
Check that your old switch matches the Kaidi KDH137-009 model, manufacturer code 31100814(Y), silver fascia, 6 button layout, USB-A port, white system plug lead, splitter joiner box and 3x male 5 pin DIN actuator plugs.
  5. Disconnect one plug at a time.
Unplug the original switch connections carefully. Do not pull from the cable itself. Hold the plug body and release any retaining lugs or clips before disconnecting.
  6. Connect the USB system plug lead.
Connect the white system plug lead from the new switch to the USB control box connection. Make sure the plug is fully seated and aligned correctly.
  7. Connect the actuator cables.
Connect the 3x male 5 pin DIN actuator plugs to the matching actuators. Use the colour coded bands on the headrest and lumbar actuator cables to help identify which cable goes where. Refer to your before photo if needed.
  8. Secure the new switch.
Fit the new switch into position on the furniture. Reuse your existing screws or suitable replacement screws, as screws are not supplied with this switch. Do not overtighten the screws.
  9. Check cable routing.
Make sure the cables are not pinched, stretched, crushed or positioned where moving recliner parts may catch them. Keep cables clear of hinges, metal frame edges and actuator movement paths.
  10. Reconnect power and test.
Plug the furniture back into power and test each function. Check footrest and backrest open and close, lumbar open and close, headrest open and close, USB power and the white LED indicator when buttons are pressed.

If any function does not operate correctly, disconnect the power again and recheck the plug connections against your before photo. If you are unsure whether this is the correct replacement switch, contact us with photos of your original switch, plugs and product label so we can help you identify the right part.

FAQs

FAQs

How do I know if this is the right replacement switch for my recliner?

Check your original switch label and plug layout before ordering. This replacement should match model KDH137-009 and manufacturer code 31100814(Y). It should also have a silver fascia, 6 button layout, USB-A port, 2 leads from the switch housing, a white USB system plug lead and 3x male 5 pin DIN actuator plugs with retaining lugs.

Can this switch be installed on either side of the recliner?

Yes, this Kaidi KDH137-009 recliner switch can be installed on either side of compatible furniture. It has a universal layout, making it suitable for left or right side installation.

Before fitting, compare the cable routing, plug layout and actuator connections with your original switch to make sure it is the correct replacement for your recliner, sofa or theatre lounge.

What functions does this recliner switch control?

The 6 buttons are arranged across 3 rocker switches. They operate the footrest and backrest open and close, lumbar open and close, and headrest open and close functions.

Are the fixing screws included with the switch?

No, screws are not supplied. You will usually reuse the existing screws from your old switch, or source suitable replacements if the originals are missing or damaged.

What should I check before removing my original recliner switch?

Disconnect the furniture from power first, then take clear photos of the original switch, plug connections, cable routing and actuator connections. These before photos are very helpful when connecting the new switch and checking each cable is fitted correctly.
