Description
Kaidi KDDY008F(AU) 29V Recliner Wall Power Adaptor
The Kaidi KDDY008F(AU) is a genuine KD / Kaidi AC/DC power adaptor used to power electric recliner chairs, lift chairs, powered sofas and theatre lounges. It has a fixed Australian/New Zealand wall plug built into the adaptor body, a green LED power-on indicator, and a long 2,510mm output cable to reach the power socket on your recliner frame.
This adaptor has a 29V 2.0A rated output, with 29V 4.0A max intermittent output for compatible recliner systems. It is designed for indoor use only and suits powered furniture that uses the matching right angle 2 pin OI style socket.
Check The Right Angle Stadium Shaped 2 Pin Plug Before Ordering
The most important compatibility detail is the recliner-side plug shape. This adaptor does not use the standard straight 2 pin OI plug with a retaining clasp. Instead, it has a stadium shaped right angle female 2 pin OI plug with no clasp tabs or locking pegs.
This plug is designed to push directly into a matching stadium shaped socket for a snug, seamless fit. These sockets are commonly located at the back of the arm carcass, underneath the lounge, or on the seat frame of the recliner.
Before ordering, compare your old adaptor plug and the socket on your furniture. If your recliner uses a standard OI connector with a clip or retaining clasp, this may not be the correct replacement power supply.
Suitable For Kaidi KDLi26A Battery Packs and Some Twin Recliner Setups
This Kaidi power adaptor is suitable for charging compatible Kaidi KDLi26A recliner battery packs, as well as powering compatible electric recliners and lift chairs with the matching right angle 2 pin socket.
It can also be used on some 2 seater or 3 seater powered lounges where the furniture already has an internal splitter cable built into the frame. We do not recommend using this adaptor with an external splitter cable because the right angle plug does not have a retaining clasp to lock the join securely.
Australia and New Zealand Fixed Wall Plug Only
This is a one piece wall adaptor with the AU/NZ wall plug moulded into the unit. It is suitable for use in Australia and New Zealand only.
If you need a recliner transformer with a removable figure 8 wall lead, an overseas wall plug option, or a standard OI output plug with retaining clips, please see our full range of recliner power supply transformers (click here). We stock a wide range of Kaidi, Okin, eMoMo and universal recliner power supplies.
Quick and Easy To Do It Yourself
Replacing a recliner power adaptor is usually a simple do-it-yourself repair. Unplug the old adaptor from the wall and from the recliner frame socket, then connect the new adaptor into the matching socket and plug it into the wall. The green LED light helps show when the power supply is receiving power.
No tools or electrical experience are required, but it is important to match the voltage, model details and plug shape before ordering. If you are unsure whether this is the right replacement for your recliner, lift chair, sofa or battery pack, contact us and we can help you identify the correct power supply.

How To Replace Your Kaidi Recliner Power Adaptor
This Kaidi recliner power adaptor is easy to replace yourself. No tools or electrical experience are required, but it is important to make sure the plug shape, voltage and model details match your original power supply before installation.
- Switch off and unplug the old adaptor.
Turn the power point off at the wall, then unplug the old adaptor from the wall socket. - Locate the recliner power socket.
Follow the old adaptor cable to where it plugs into your recliner, lift chair, powered sofa or theatre lounge. The matching socket is usually located at the back of the arm carcass, underneath the lounge, or on the seat frame. - Disconnect the old 2 pin plug.
Gently pull the old right angle plug out of the recliner socket. Do not pull sharply on the cable, and avoid twisting the plug if it feels tight. - Compare the plug shape before fitting the new adaptor.
This adaptor uses a stadium shaped right angle female 2 pin OI plug with no retaining clasp or locking pegs. It must be fitted into a matching stadium shaped socket for a snug, seamless fit. - Connect the new adaptor to the recliner.
Push the new right angle 2 pin plug firmly into the matching socket. It should sit neatly in place without needing a clasp or retaining clip. - Plug the adaptor into the wall socket.
Insert the fixed AU/NZ wall plug into the power point and switch the power on. The green LED light should illuminate to show the adaptor is receiving power. - Test the recliner operation.
Use your recliner buttons, handset or switch to test the open and close movement. If the recliner works normally, the replacement is complete.
Using This Adaptor With A Kaidi KDLi26A Battery Pack
This adaptor is also suitable for compatible Kaidi KDLi26A recliner battery packs. Connect the right angle 2 pin plug into the matching battery pack charging socket, then plug the adaptor into an Australian or New Zealand wall power point.
Make sure the plug is fully seated and the adaptor’s green LED power indicator is on. If your battery pack has its own charge indicator, refer to the battery pack instructions for charging status and charge time.
Important Fitment Notes
- This adaptor is suitable for Australia and New Zealand wall sockets only.
- This adaptor is for indoor use only.
- This plug style does not have a retaining clasp, locking clip or peg system.
- Do not use this adaptor with an external splitter cable, as the plug connection does not lock together securely.
- This adaptor can suit some twin recliner lounges where the furniture has an internal splitter cable already built into the frame.
- If your old power supply has a removable figure 8 wall lead, straight OI plug, clasp plug or different connector shape, this may not be the correct replacement.
Troubleshooting After Installation
- No green LED light: Check that the wall socket is switched on and that the adaptor is fully plugged into the power point.
- LED is on but recliner does not move: Check that the 2 pin plug is fully inserted into the recliner socket and that the handset, switch or control buttons are connected correctly.
- Plug does not fit the recliner socket: Do not force it. Compare your old plug with the new one, as your recliner may require a different power supply or cable style.
- Recliner works intermittently: Check the cable path for tight bends, crushed sections or loose connections around the recliner frame.
If you are unsure whether this is the correct replacement adaptor for your recliner, lift chair, powered sofa or battery pack, contact us for help before forcing any plug connection.

Is the Kaidi KDDY008F(AU) suitable for my electric recliner chair?
Yes, this Kaidi recliner power adaptor is suitable for electric recliners, lift chairs, powered sofas and theatre lounges that use the same right angle stadium shaped female 2 pin OI plug. The output is 29V 2.0A rated, with 29V 4.0A max intermittent output, so always compare the plug shape and power label on your old adaptor before ordering.
What type of plug does this Kaidi recliner transformer use?
This adaptor uses a stadium shaped right angle female 2 pin OI plug with no retaining clasp or locking pegs. It is designed to push directly into a matching socket, usually located at the back of the recliner arm carcass, under the lounge, or on the seat frame. If your old power supply has a straight OI plug with a retaining clip, this may not be the correct replacement.
Can I use this Kaidi KDDY008F(AU) adaptor with a recliner splitter cable?
This adaptor is not recommended for use with an external splitter cable because the plug does not have a retaining clasp to securely lock the join. It can suit some twin recliner sofas where the lounge already has an internal splitter cable built into the frame, provided the furniture uses the matching socket and does not exceed the adaptor’s rated use.
Does this adaptor charge the Kaidi KDLi26A recliner battery pack?
Yes, this Kaidi AC/DC adaptor is suitable for compatible Kaidi KDLi26A recliner battery packs. It can be used as a recliner battery pack charger where the battery pack has the matching right angle 2 pin socket. Check your battery pack model and plug shape before ordering.
Can this Kaidi recliner power adaptor be used outside Australia or New Zealand?
No, this model has a fixed Australian/New Zealand wall plug built into the adaptor body, so it is suitable for Australia and New Zealand only. If you need a recliner transformer for another country, or one with a removable figure 8 wall lead, choose a different power supply model from our recliner transformer range.
