Footrest 3 Position Pins & Springs
A 4 piece set comprising of metal 2x pivot pins and 2x extension springs to fit the La Z Boy 3 position metal ratchet lock system. The pins and springs work in unison with the metal lock plates and 3 position lever bar to secure the footrest into one of the 3 different positions. Commonly found on Jason recliners and La Z boy chaise rocker reclina’s models pre 2010.

How To
How To
1, Set up the new pin and springs by attaching 1 x spring onto both pivot pin grooves so it makes a U shape. Do not attach the second spring yet,
2, Lay a drop sheet on the floor and carefully turn the recliner over on its front, please remember safe lifting techniques.
3,Locate where the original pins and springs currently fit on the mechanism (if they haven’t fallen out and been lost) or if they have broken off just look for the lock plates and lever mechanism.
4,With the footrest closed, unhook the pins and springs and remove from the lock plate mechanism be mindful not to drop the 3 position lever as it may rotate and be refitted back to front.
5,Next installing the replacement pins and springs. Firstly push one pin through the hole in the centre of the lock plate, continue through the 3 position lever top hole and out through the second lock plate centre hole.
6, Next guide the second pin along the lock plate notch nearest the footrest and then push the second pin through the ‘L’ shape cut out in the 3 position lever and then along the second lock plate notch.
7, Once the two pins are securely fed through the lock plate mechanism it is now the time to install the second spring to the pins. This process can be fiddly as the spring is small and can be over stretched when installing.
8,Hook one end of the spring onto the first pin groove(either pin to start) and then gently pull the second hook up over the second pin and push the hook into position in the pin groove. Remember not to over stretch the spring!
9, Carefully turn the recliner back over to the standard position.
10, Test the recliner, now the footrest will engage in all three positions!

Does this work on electric recliners?
No! This is only for manual La z boy and Jason rocker recliner sand glideaways's
Can these springs or pivot pins be used for other applications?
Designed mainly as a recliner 3 position spring and pin set however it may be suitable for other applications.
I have plastic moulded clips that have broken, will this set work?
No, the plastic 3 position ratchets are the new version of these pins and springs and unfortunately are not compatible with each other.
How many spirngs and pins will I recieve?
We will supply 2x pivot pins and 2x pivot lock springs.
