DIY Installation Guide – Replacing a La‑Z‑Boy XR Plus Wiring Harness (Part 11.000202)
Time needed: 10 – 15 minutes
Tools required: Torx‑head screwdriver, torch/flashlight, side‑cutters or small pliers (for zip‑ties)
1, Power Down & Unplug
Fully close the recliner and remove the mains plug from the wall.
Disconnect the lead from the transformer (the black plug) so the chair is completely isolated from power.
2, Lay the Chair on Its Back
Place an old towel or blanket on the floor to protect the upholstery, then gently tip the recliner onto its front to expose the underside.
Keep the footrest closed to stop the mechanism moving while you work.
3, Photograph the Existing Loom Path (Optional but Smart)
Take a quick phone photo of the original wiring route and any clip locations. Having a visual reference makes re‑routing the new harness fool‑proof.
4, Removing the Old Harness
Remove any screws, clips or zip ties holding the cables to the frame
Unplug the Old Harness
Feed the harness out of the frame, noting its path around the scissor mechanism to avoid pinch points.
5, Installing the New Harness (11.000202)
Follow the same path as the original harness, clipping or tie‑wrapping it to the frame as you go. Keep slack away from moving links.
Leave enough free cable at the actuator so it doesn’t stretch during full recline.
6, Reconnect All Plugs
Locate and connect the harness plugs to the corrosponding part plugs.
7, Secure & Tidy
Replace any cable clips or add fresh zip‑ties so the loom can’t rub on moving parts.
8, Test Before Uprighting
Reconnect the transformer’s mains lead and plug the chair back into the wall.
With the recliner still on its front, press “Legrest Open” and “Legrest Close” briefly to confirm the actuator moves smoothly and the handset lights up.
If everything works, unplug the chair again and return it to the upright position.
9, Final Check & Enjoy
Plug in once more, cycle fully open and closed, and confirm all buttons respond correctly.
Your recliner is now back in action—job done!

FAQs
FAQs
Will this harness fit my La‑Z‑Boy XR plus recliner?
This loom suits XR Plus models that use the 10‑button hand control If your chair has the earlier XR 6 button handset it will need a different loom.
Do I need any special tools to install it?
No. A torx‑head screwdriver and a pair of side‑cutters for any old zip‑ties are all you’ll need. Most customers finish the swap‑over in under fifteen minutes by following our step‑by‑step guide or video tutorial.
Is this an original La‑Z‑Boy / InSeat part or an aftermarket copy?
It’s 100 % genuine OEM. Every harness is factory‑terminated with the correct keyed plugs, proper strain reliefs and UL‑rated cabling—so it’s a true plug‑and‑play replacement with no cutting or soldering.
Do you ship this item outside Australia?
Yes. We dispatch daily from our Brisbane warehouse and ship worldwide—including New Zealand, the US, UK, Canada, Singapore and over 40 other destinations. International customers will see a notice that all prices are in Australian dollars, and checkout will show live postage options at the current exchange rate.
How do I confirm the correct part number on my existing harness?
Look for the white barcode tag or heat‑shrink label on your chair’s loom. The standard‑length XR Plus harness will show “11.000202” (La‑Z‑Boy) and/or “InSeat 14661”. If your tag reads “10.000134” / “14661T‑24” (extra‑long wall‑hugger) or “75000273‑00” (early XR series), you’ll need one of those specific looms instead.
