This replacement trigger handle is made from a strong aluminium metal which is more durable than the plastic alternative. Durable Metal Recliner Release Latch - Universal Fit
Our large black metal recliner handle is a strong & durable replacement for any broken recliner release handle. Made from aluminium metal with a satin black powder coated finish, this universal replacement handle measures 112mm wide, 68mm high and 40mm deep. We also have the classic black plastic handle (click here) alternative.
This recliner handle will fit most recliner chairs & lounges that use this standard large oval flapper style handle. It accepts recliner release cables with a 6mm barrel size but will comfortably accommodate barrel sizes between 5mm and 7mm. The handle includes the matching cable retaining clip, however the release cable and mounting screws are not included.
It is important to measure both your existing handle and the furniture cut-out opening before ordering. This handle requires a furniture opening of approximately 100mm wide x 58mm high with at least 44mm internal depth clearance for correct fitment. Important: If changing between plastic and metal handles, always measure the furniture cut-out opening and screw hole positions before ordering. You may need to reposition mounting screws due to the different mounting layouts and dimensions.
Some recliners have upholstery fabric or padding tucked into the handle opening which can reduce clearance space. If the replacement handle feels tight, carefully trimming excess fabric or padding around the opening may improve fitment.
Although commonly called universal recliner handles, not all recliner manufacturers use identical dimensions, so measuring before ordering is always recommended.

Remove the broken recliner handle by unscrewing the two fixing screws behind the latch using either a manual or electric screwdriver and pull the handle clear of the furniture.
