Made from aluminium, this replacement provides a long-lasting solution for a broken recliner handle. The set includes the handle, cable, and cable retaining clip. It is designed to fit universally on popular brands including Leggett & Platt, RMT, and others.

Important: If changing from a plastic handle set to a metal handle set, or vice versa, please measure both the furniture cut-out opening and mounting screw positions before ordering. Different handle styles may require repositioning screw holes or minor adjustments during installation.
Some recliner manufacturers tuck upholstery fabric or padding into the handle opening which can reduce available clearance space. If the replacement handle feels tight, carefully trimming excess fabric or padding around the opening may improve fitment and handle movement.
Although commonly described as universal recliner handle and cable sets, not all recliner manufacturers use identical dimensions or mounting layouts. Measuring before ordering is strongly recommended.

All recliner release cables we sell use the same 965mm inner cable length with the same barrel and hook fittings. The only difference between the cable length options is the outer sheath length, which becomes longer or shorter depending on the exposed cable length and overall cable configuration required.
Some recliner release cables require an inline spring on the exposed cable section, while others do not. If your original cable has an inline spring fitted near the handle, choose a replacement cable option that also includes the inline spring. If your existing cable does not use an inline spring, choose the standard non-spring version.

Remove the broken recliner handle by unscrewing the two fixing screws behind the latch using either a manual or electric screwdriver and pull the handle clear of the furniture.
