Description
Okin JLDP-05 Dual-Motor Recliner Control Box – Model JLDP.05.038.002
Restore smooth, synchronised movement to any dual-motor recliner or lift chair that uses Okin’s JLDP-05 platform. This genuine control box sits between your 29 V transformer and the two actuators, translating every button press from the handset into precise footrest and backrest motion. Supplied pre-wired with colour-coded 5-7 pin motor leads and a handset lead, it swaps straight in for a failed unit—no pairing, coding or soldering required.
Plug-and-Play Replacement – No Programming Needed
Simply unplug the old box, match the part number **JLDP.05.038.002**, and push the new one into place. The on-board safety circuit automatically cuts power if a motor stalls or overheats, protecting both you and your chair. Mounting screws are retained from your original unit, so all you need is a Phillips-head screwdriver.
Compatible Handsets, Actuators & Power Supplies
Designed for 29 V DC, 2 A transformers with the industry-standard 2-pin “OI” plug. Works out of the box with all Okin 5-pin handsets and JLDQ-series actuators. If you also need a new **power supply transformer (click here)** or a **replacement handset remote (click here)**, we keep the full range in stock for fast dispatch.

Step-by-Step: Replacing Your Okin JLDP.05.038.002 Control Box
⚠️ Safety First – Unplug & Lift Carefully
• Disconnect the recliner from the wall socket and wait 60 seconds for any residual charge to dissipate.
• The base frame is awkward and can weigh 25 kg +. Bend your knees, keep your back straight and—ideally—have a second person help tilt the chair onto its back.
- Locate the control box under the seat. It will have the code JLDP.05.038.002 printed on its label.
- Take a clear photo of every plug and cable route. That snapshot is your wiring map when reconnecting.
- Remove the 2 mounting screws with a Phillips-head screwdriver and let the old box hang free.
- Unplug the leads (press each latch before pulling):
• 2-pin “OI” power input
• 5-pin handset lead
• 5-pin motor A (red collar)
• 7-pin motor B (yellow collar) - Position the new box (label facing out, wires down) and loosely start the two screws.
- Match each plug to the identical socket on the replacement JLDP.05.038.002 and push firmly into position. Use your photo if unsure.
- Tighten the screws fully and make sure all cables are clear of any moving mechanism parts.
- Return the chair upright—again using safe-lifting technique—and reconnect the transformer to mains power.
- Test every function (footrest up/down, backrest, etc.). Smooth motion means the swap is complete.

FAQs
FAQs
How do I know if the JLDP .05 .038 .002 is the correct replacement for my chair?
Check the white sticker on your existing control box—if the part number matches JLDP .05 .038 .002 you’re good to go.
Still unsure? Snap a photo and send it to our support team; we’ll confirm before you buy.
Do I need to re-program or pair the new control box with my handset?
No. JLDP-05 units are fully hard-wired. Once you plug the handset and actuators back into the new box, everything will work exactly as before—no pairing sequences, software or tools required.
My power brick is rated 29 V 2 A. Will it run this control box?
Yes. The JLDP .05 .038 .002 is designed for the standard 29 V DC, 2 A transformer used on most dual-motor recliners and lift chairs. If your original power supply is dead, grab our universal 2-pin 29 V transformer (see related products) and you’re set.
Only one motor on my chair has failed—could the control box still be at fault?
Possibly. Swap the two motor plugs (red ↔ yellow) at the control box. If the fault moves to the other function, the control box channel is blown and this replacement will fix it. If the same motor still won’t run, the actuator itself is likely the issue.
What tools and time do I need to replace the control box?
Just a Philips-head screwdriver and five minutes. Unplug the chair from the wall, loosen the two mounting screws, disconnect the old box, then plug-and-play the new one. Re-secure the screws, power up, and test—DIY repair done, money saved!
