How To
How To
- 1, Isolate the power. Switch the recliner off at the wall and unplug the transformer. Disconnect any battery-backup pack so the chair is completely dead.
- 2, Tip the furniture safely. Lay a blanket on the floor. With a helper, grasp solid frame points (never the footrest) and tilt the chair onto its side or back. Bend your knees and keep your back straight.
- 3, Take a reference photo. Before touching anything, use your phone to photograph the control box showing every plug and colour tag in place. If you forget where a lead goes, your photo is the perfect cheat-sheet.
- 4, Slide the old control box off the bracket. The JLDP unit sits in a cradle. Push it toward the open end (usually forward) until it releases.
- 5, Disconnect the four plugs. Squeeze the latch and pull:
- Blue = Lift actuator
- Orange = Back actuator
- White = 7-pin handset loom + incoming power
- 6, Quick housekeeping check. Remove staples, pet hair or debris. Inspect the two-pin IO lead and transformer for crushed cable or scorch marks.
- 7, Prepare the new JLDP.05.058.000. Confirm the label reads
JLDP.05.060.000. Slide the new box halfway onto the bracket so it’s supported but still exposed. - 8, Reconnect the plugs (match the colours). Align the keyed plugs with their matching sockets and push until they click. Tug each lead lightly to confirm it’s locked.
- 9, Seat the control box fully. Push the module along the bracket rails until it stops; no screws required.
- 10, Return the chair upright. Lift with your helper using the same safe technique. Ensure no cables are trapped under the base.
- 11, Power-up test. Plug the transformer back in, switch on and operate each function: Lift, Back, Head/Lumbar. All actuators should run smoothly.
- 12, Final safety check. Listen for unusual clicking or buzzing and cable-tie any dangling leads clear of moving parts.
