This actuator is not suitable as a lift chair actuator. It is intended for compatible standard electric recliner chairs, sofas and powered lounge mechanisms.
The Supplied Actuator Is JLDQ.11.156.333A
Although this listing is for customers replacing a JLDQ.1.156.333 actuator, the replacement actuator supplied will be the compatible Okin Refined JLDQ.11.156.333A model. These actuator models are considered compatible where the fixing points, operational dimensions, power connection and handset connection are suitable.
Some original actuators may have slight differences in label details, power cable length or cable position. These differences do not necessarily prevent compatibility. The key details to confirm are the 156mm install length, 333mm stroke, matching fixture points, male 2 pin OI power connection and compatible 5 pin DIN handset or switch plug.
Broken White Slider Block? Replace the Complete Actuator

How To Install Your Recliner Actuator
Replacing an electric recliner actuator is a DIY repair that many customers can complete with basic tools and careful preparation. Before starting, make sure the recliner is disconnected from power and positioned somewhere safe with enough room to work around it.
Important: Take a clear photo of the existing actuator, wiring, plug positions and mounting direction before removing anything. This gives you a helpful reference when fitting the new actuator and reconnecting the plugs.
Before You Start
- Unplug the recliner from the wall power socket.
- Remove any battery backup pack if your recliner has one fitted.
- Clear the area around the recliner so you have space to safely work.
- Take a before photo of the actuator, plugs and cable routing.
- Compare the replacement actuator with your original actuator before installation.
- Check the fixing points, install length, stroke, 2 pin OI power plug and 5 pin DIN handset or switch connection.
Use Safe Lifting and Handling
Recliners, sofas and powered lounges can be heavy and awkward to move. Use safe lifting techniques and ask another person to help if needed. Bend your knees, keep your back straight, avoid twisting while lifting, and do not attempt to lift or turn over furniture that feels too heavy to control safely.
When tilting or turning the recliner to access the actuator, make sure the furniture is stable before placing your hands underneath. Never place your fingers near moving scissor mechanisms, brackets or pinch points.
Step By Step Installation Guide
- Disconnect the power. Make sure the recliner is unplugged from the wall and there is no power connected to the actuator.
- Access the actuator. Carefully tilt the recliner or sofa to access the underside of the frame. Use safe lifting techniques and get help from another person if required.
- Take a before photo. Photograph the original actuator position, plug connections, cable routing and mounting direction before removing the old actuator.
- Disconnect the plugs. Unplug the 2 pin OI power lead and the 5 pin DIN handset or switch plug from the old actuator.
- Remove the old actuator. Remove the fixing pins, clips, bolts or brackets holding the actuator to the recliner mechanism. Keep any reusable clips or hardware in a safe place.
- Compare the old and new actuators. Check that the fixing points, install length, stroke and plug connections are suitable before fitting the replacement.
- Fit the new actuator. Position the JLDQ.11.156.333A actuator in the same direction as the original actuator and secure it using the original fixing hardware.
- Reconnect the plugs. Connect the male 2 pin OI power lead and the compatible 5 pin DIN handset or switch plug to the actuator.
- Check cable routing. Make sure cables are clear of moving parts, sharp edges, scissor mechanisms and pinch points.
- Test the recliner carefully. Reconnect power and briefly test the recliner movement. Watch the actuator and cables during the first test to make sure everything moves freely.
Final Safety Check
After installation, check that all fixing points are secure, the cables are safely routed and the actuator moves smoothly without obstruction. If the recliner does not operate correctly, disconnect the power before checking the plugs or actuator position.
If you are unsure at any stage, contact Sofa Rehab for help before continuing. We can assist with checking your actuator model, plug connections and replacement part suitability.
