TiMotion TP5P Recliner Power Supply Transformer TP5P-A1-088
The TiMotion TP5P-1015-001 (spec code TP5P-A1-088) is a genuine replacement power supply for electric recliner chairs, sofas and lift chairs. With a universal input of 100–240V AC, it delivers 29V DC 2.0A for continuous operation, or 29V DC 4.5A in duty cycle mode. This model features an OI 2-pin connector with retaining clasp, a figure-8 input socket, and a solid green LED to indicate correct operation. Safe, durable and quick to install, it’s the perfect DIY solution to get your recliner back up and running.
Match The TP5P-A1-088 Spec Code Before Ordering
Before ordering, check the label on your old power supply transformer and confirm the spec code. The most important compatibility detail for this replacement is TP5P-A1-088.
The TP5P model number alone is not enough because TiMotion power supplies can be made in different versions, plug types and output configurations. Matching the spec code helps ensure you are ordering the correct replacement for your recliner, lift chair or powered lounge.
This replacement has 100 to 240V AC input and 29.0V DC output at 2.0A under continuous working. It uses a female OI 2 pin output plug with a retaining clasp, which is the common round pin and flat pin style connector used on many powered furniture systems.
Key Power Supply Details
This is a Class 2 AC/DC adapter for dry location use only. The transformer has a green LED power indicator, which shows when power is supplied to the unit.
The transformer body measures approximately 119mm long x 59mm wide x 37mm deep. The output lead measures approximately 233mm long including the plug housing.
For full electrical label details, including duty cycle information, please refer to the technical specifications tab.
Transformer Brick Only With Optional Cable Add-ons
This listing is for the transformer brick only. It does not include the wall plug lead, OI extension cable or OI splitter cable as standard.
If your existing wall cord and recliner power lead are still in good condition, you can reuse them and replace only the faulty transformer. This helps keep the repair cost down and avoids replacing parts you do not need.
If your cables are missing, damaged or crushed, you can select the compatible wall plug, OI extension cable or OI splitter cable as add-ons before checkout. The transformer accepts a figure 8 style wall cord into the C8 input socket, and the output lead has a female OI 2 pin plug with retaining clasp.
Do It Yourself And Save Time & Money
Replacing a recliner power supply transformer is usually a simple DIY repair. In most cases, you only need to unplug the old transformer and connect the replacement using the matching push-together plugs.
No specialist tools or electrical experience are required when replacing a like-for-like external transformer. Order the correct replacement, fit it yourself, and enjoy the satisfaction of getting your recliner, lift chair or powered lounge working again without paying for an in-home service call.

How To Replace Your TiMotion TP5P Power Supply Transformer
Replacing this TiMotion TP5P transformer is usually a simple do-it-yourself repair. The power supply uses push-together plugs, so no specialist tools or electrical work are required when replacing the transformer with the correct matching unit.
Before You Start
- Switch the recliner or lift chair off at the wall power point.
- Unplug the wall power cord from the wall socket.
- Check the label on your old transformer and confirm it shows spec code TP5P-A1-088.
- Check that your old transformer uses the same female OI 2 pin plug with retaining clasp.
- Inspect your existing wall plug lead and OI extension cable for damage before reusing them.
Step By Step Replacement Guide
- Locate the old transformer. Follow the power lead from the wall socket or from underneath the recliner to find the transformer brick.
- Disconnect the wall power cord. Remove the figure 8 wall cord from the C8 input socket on the old transformer.
- Disconnect the OI 2 pin plug. Release the retaining clasp and gently pull the OI plug connection apart. Do not pull on the cable itself.
- Remove the old transformer. Once both ends are unplugged, remove the faulty transformer from under or behind the chair.
- Connect the replacement transformer. Plug the OI 2 pin connector into the matching recliner cable and make sure the retaining clasp is secured.
- Reconnect the wall power cord. Insert your figure 8 wall cord into the C8 input socket on the replacement transformer.
- Turn the power back on. Plug the wall cord into the power point and switch it on. The green LED indicator on the transformer should illuminate.
- Test the recliner function. Operate the recliner, lift chair or powered lounge using the handset or switch to confirm normal movement.
If Your Recliner Still Does Not Work
If the green LED does not turn on, check that the wall power point is working and that the figure 8 wall cord is fully inserted into the transformer. If the LED is on but the recliner still does not move, the issue may be with the handset, switch, actuator motor, extension cable or another part of the electrical system.
If your old wall plug lead or OI extension cable is damaged, crushed, loose or missing, replace it rather than reusing it. We offer compatible wall plug leads, OI extension cables and OI splitter cables as optional add-ons.
Important Safety Notes
- This transformer is for dry location use only.
- Do not use the power supply if the cable, plug or transformer casing is damaged.
- Do not open or attempt to repair the transformer brick.
- Only replace like-for-like power supplies where the spec code, output rating and plug type match your original unit.
You Can Do It Yourself And Save
This repair normally only takes a few minutes and does not require a tradesperson. By matching the correct TP5P-A1-088 spec code and reconnecting the push-together plugs, you can replace the transformer yourself and get your electric recliner, lift chair or powered lounge working again.
If you are unsure whether this is the correct replacement power supply, contact Sofa Rehab before ordering and we can help you compare your old transformer label and plug type.

FAQs
FAQs
Is TP5P-H119-001 the same replacement as TP5P-1015-001?
Yes. Sofa Rehab supplies part number TP5P-H119-001 as the replacement for TiMotion TP5P-1015-001, but the most important detail to match is the spec code TP5P-A1-088. Please check the label on your old transformer before ordering to make sure it shows the same spec code.
How do I know if this TiMotion TP5P power supply will fit my recliner or lift chair?
Check three details on your old power supply: the spec code TP5P-A1-088, the output rating 29.0V 2.0A, and the plug style. This transformer has a female OI 2 pin plug with a retaining clasp, which is the round pin and flat pin style connector used on many electric recliners, lift chairs and powered lounges.
Does this TP5P transformer come with the wall plug lead?
No. This listing is for the transformer brick only. It accepts a figure 8 C8 style wall cord, but the wall plug lead is not included as standard. If your existing wall cord is missing or damaged, you can select a compatible wall plug lead as an add-on.
Can I reuse my old OI extension cable with this transformer?
Yes, you can reuse your existing OI extension cable if it is in good condition and has the matching 2 pin OI plug connection. If your old cable is crushed, loose, cut or missing, we offer compatible OI extension cables and OI splitter cables as optional add-ons.
Why is the green LED light important on a recliner power supply?
The green LED power light shows that the transformer is receiving power from the wall socket. If the green light is on but your recliner still does not move, the issue may be with another part such as the handset, switch, actuator motor or cable. If the LED does not turn on, check the wall power point and figure 8 wall cord first.
