Replacing your recliner power supply transformer is a quick and simple task that you can do yourself with no prior experience. Follow these safe and easy steps to install your new TP5P transformer:
- Unplug from the wall first. Always disconnect your recliner from the wall socket before starting. This ensures your safety while handling the transformer and cables.
- Position your recliner safely. Tip the recliner gently onto its side for easier access to the base. Use safe lifting techniques or ask someone to help if the recliner is heavy. Avoid straining your back.
- Take a photo before removal. Snap a clear picture of how the old transformer and cables are connected. This will help you reconnect everything correctly and avoid mistakes.
- Disconnect the old transformer. Unclip the OI 2-pin plug from the actuator/motor cable. Unplug the figure-8 wall cord from the transformer, then remove the transformer from the recliner frame.
- Install the new transformer. Connect the figure-8 wall cord to the new TP5P unit. Plug the OI 2-pin cable into the transformer’s output port until it clicks securely into place. Match your connections to the photo you took earlier.
