Description
Universal 2 - Pin 29 V 2 A Recliner Power Supply – DOT-Z-290020A / PW.20.20.000
Restore power to any electric recliner, lift chair, sofa or adjustable bed that uses the standard two-pin “OI” flat-and-round plug. This genuine Okin Refined AC/DC transformer auto-switches from 100 V to 240 V input and delivers a steady 29 V DC 2.0 A (4.5 A peak) to keep your motors running smoothly. A fixed DC lead with the industry-standard connector means it is truly plug-and-play: disconnect the old brick, click this one in, and your furniture is ready to recline again.
Same Power, Different Labels – PW.20.20.000 and PW.30.20.000
Okin stamp their transformers with a variety of “article numbers”. The good news is that all of the part numbers below share the same electronics and electrical specification, so they are completely cross-compatible:
- DOT-Z-290020A – the model code on the silver label
- PW.20.20.000 – Okin’s catalogue code for the standard housing (this item)
- PW.30.20.000 – identical board but in the longer case that accepts two 9 V batteries for emergency lowering
- Legacy codes such as DOT-Z-290018A or retailer codes that call for a 29 V 2 A “SP2” or “SP2-B” supply
If your original unit reads any of the numbers above, this transformer is a direct drop-in. The only functional difference is that the PW.30 housing has a battery drawer; electrically they are the same.
Supplied As The AC/DC Transformer Brick Only
This product is supplied as pictured, with the AC/DC transformer brick only unless extra cable options are selected before checkout. This gives you the flexibility to order only the part you need, instead of paying for a full cable set if your original cables are still in good working condition.
If your existing wall power cable and 2 pin OI extension cable are safe, undamaged and still fitting firmly, you can order the transformer brick by itself and reuse your current cables.
Need more than just the transformer? Use the cable options near the add to cart button to add the extra leads you need before checkout.
Depending on your repair, you may choose to add:
A wall power cable for your country if your original mains lead is missing, damaged or unsafe
A 2 pin OI extension cable if the cable from the transformer to the recliner is damaged, crushed, loose or too short
A 2 pin splitter cable if you need to power two compatible recliner actions from one transformer
A wall power cable and 2 pin OI extension cable together if you want to make a complete 3 piece replacement power supply set
This setup helps keep the repair cost effective. Order just the AC/DC brick if that is all you need, or add the matching cables to complete the repair.
Can Be Used To Power Multiple Recliners or 3 Seater Lounges
This transformer can be used with our Y Splitter OI Cable (click here) to power two compatible recliner actions from a single AC/DC power supply. It is a handy option for twin reclining sofas, powered 3 seater lounges and theatre lounge setups that use multiple compatible motors or actuators.

Do It Yourself And Save Time & Money
Replacing a recliner power supply transformer is usually a simple plug together repair. No special tools are normally required, and most customers can replace the transformer themselves in just a few minutes.
Unplug the recliner from wall power first, then disconnect the old transformer from the wall power cable and OI extension lead. Connect the replacement KDDY008B transformer into the same cable setup, making sure the plugs are pushed together firmly and any retaining clips are properly secured.
By ordering only the transformer or cable combination you actually need, you can save money, reduce waste and get your recliner working again without paying for an unnecessary service call.

How To Install The DOT-Z-290020A Recliner Power Supply Transformer
This tutorial explains how to replace a DOT-Z-290020A AC/DC power supply transformer on an electric recliner chair, lift chair, powered sofa or theatre lounge. This transformer is a plug and play replacement in most cases, provided your original power supply uses the same DC 29V, 2.0A output and matching 2 pin OI plug connection.
Before You Start
- Unplug the recliner from the wall power socket before handling any cables.
- Check the label on your original transformer and confirm it shows DC 29V output and 2.0A output current.
- Confirm the output plug is the same 2 pin OI style, with one round pin and one flat pin.
- Inspect your existing wall power cable and OI extension cable for cuts, crushed sections, loose plugs or exposed wiring.
- Do not reuse damaged, unsafe or loose fitting cables.
Installation Steps
- Turn off and unplug the recliner.
Disconnect the wall power cable from the power socket before starting the replacement. - Locate the old transformer.
The transformer is usually found behind or underneath the recliner, between the wall power cable and the cable running to the recliner mechanism. - Take a quick reference photo.
Before unplugging anything, take a photo of the cable setup so you can easily reconnect the replacement transformer the same way. - Disconnect the old transformer.
Unplug the figure 8 wall power cable from the transformer input socket, then disconnect the 2 pin OI cable from the transformer output plug. Release any locking clips carefully before pulling the plugs apart. - Check your cables before reusing them.
If your wall power cable and OI extension cable are in good condition, you can reuse them with the new transformer. If either cable is damaged, missing or loose, select a replacement cable option before checkout. - Connect the new DOT-Z_290020A transformer.
Plug the figure 8 wall power cable into the C8 input socket on the transformer. Then connect the 2 pin OI output plug to the matching OI extension lead or recliner cable. - Secure the plug connections.
Push the plug connections together firmly and make sure any locking clips are properly engaged. Loose connections can cause intermittent power issues. - Reconnect wall power and test the recliner.
Plug the recliner back into the wall power socket and test the recline function using the handset, switch or cup holder controls. - Place the transformer safely.
Position the transformer where it will not be crushed by the recliner mechanism, trapped under the frame or pulled tight when the chair moves.
Optional Cable Add Ons
This product is supplied as the AC/DC transformer brick only unless extra cable options are selected near the add to cart button. If your existing cables are still safe and working, you can reuse them.
If needed, you can add a wall power cable for your country, a 2 pin OI extension cable, or a 2 pin splitter cable before checkout. A splitter cable may be useful when powering two compatible recliner actions from one transformer.
Important Safety Notes
- For indoor use only.
- Do not use the transformer if the case, plugs or cables are damaged.
- Do not exceed the transformer duty cycle of maximum 2 minutes ON followed by 18 minutes OFF.
- Do not force mismatched plugs together.
- If the recliner still does not work after replacing the transformer, the issue may be with the handset, switch, motor, junction box or internal wiring.

FAQs
FAQs
Will this transformer fit my chair if the old one says “SP2” or “29 V 2 A”?
Yes. Any power brick that lists 29 V DC / 2 A and uses the 2-pin “OI” flat-and-round connector can be replaced with DOT-Z-290020A (PW.20.20.000). It’s a direct plug-and-play swap for SP2, SP2-B, PW-series, KDDY008B and similar units.
Does this recliner transformer come with the power cable and OI extension lead?
This product is supplied as the AC/DC transformer brick only, unless you select extra cable options near the add to cart button. If your existing cables are safe and working, you can reuse them. If your wall power cable, OI extension lead or splitter cable is missing or damaged, you can add the cable you need before checkout.
What’s the difference between PW.20.20.000 and PW.30.20.000?
Electrically they’re identical.
Can I power two recliner seats from one transformer?
Yes, provided the total load doesn’t exceed the 4.5 A peak rating. Pair the transformer with our Y-Splitter IO Cable and it will safely run two single-motor recliners or a twin-motor sofa.
Is installation difficult—do I need an electrician?
No tools or wiring knowledge required. Unplug the old unit from the wall, disconnect the 2-pin plug under the chair, then reverse the steps with the new transformer. Most customers complete the swap in under five minutes.
