How To Replace Your Okin Recliner Power Supply Transformer
Replacing this Okin Refined AC/DC switching power supply is a simple plug together repair for most electric recliners, lift chairs, powered sofas and theatre lounges. No special tools are required, and you do not need to open the transformer box or modify any wiring.
- Turn the power off at the wall. Switch off the wall outlet before touching any of the power supply connections.
- Unplug the wall power lead. Disconnect the figure 8 C8 wall lead from your old transformer and remove it from the wall outlet.
- Disconnect the furniture side cable. Locate the 2 pin OI connection between the transformer and the recliner, lift chair or sofa. Release the retaining clasp if fitted, then gently pull the plugs apart.
- Compare the old and new transformer labels. Check that your old power supply matches the required 29.0V 3.0A output and has the same 2 pin OI plug style. This replacement is model W87RA07-290030, version JLDP.10.042.000.
- Connect the new Okin transformer. Plug the furniture side 2 pin OI connection into the matching cable from your recliner, lift chair or powered sofa. Make sure the retaining clasp is properly secured.
