Kaidi AC/DC Adapter KDDY008H

The Kaidi model KDDY008H is an AC/DC power supply transformer used on compatible electric recliners, lift chairs, powered sofas and theatre lounges. It converts wall power into the low voltage DC power required by the recliner action, using the common 2 pin OI plug with one round pin and one flat blade.

This replacement recliner power supply has a 29V 2.0A, 58W output, with 29V 4.0A max output capacity. It also includes retaining clasp tabs on the OI plug and a green LED light on the transformer body to indicate when power is on.

Before ordering, compare your original power supply label and plug shape with this replacement. This transformer is intended for compatible systems where the original unit is marked KDDY008H, or where the recliner setup requires the same 29V output specification and matching 2 pin OI round and flat plug.

The wall-side connection accepts a figure 8 / C8 style wall power lead. The recliner-side output cable has the 2 pin OI plug used on many electric recliner and lift chair power systems. Please check that your plug shape, voltage rating and cable connection match before ordering.

If your existing wall power cable and OI extension cable are undamaged, fit firmly and are still in good condition, you can simply order the transformer by itself and reuse your current cables.

Cables and Splitters for Compatible Recliner Setups

The KDDY008H transformer can be used with compatible OI cables and splitter leads where the recliner system is designed for that setup. Splitter cables are commonly used on powered sofas, theatre lounges and multi-seat recliners where more than one compatible action is being powered from the same transformer.

Always check your existing setup before adding a splitter. Some recliner systems are designed to use one transformer per seat, while others are designed to share power through OI splitter leads. If your original setup already used a 2 way or 3 way splitter, choosing the matching add-on cable can make the replacement easier.

Replacing a recliner power supply transformer is usually a simple DIY repair. Unplug the chair from the wall, disconnect the old transformer from the wall lead and recliner cable, then reconnect the new transformer using the same matching plugs.

Once connected, check that the green LED power light comes on, then test the recliner buttons before tidying the cables safely underneath the furniture. No special tools are normally required, and replacing the transformer yourself can save the cost and delay of an in-home repair call.
