Description
Okin -OKIMAT 4 EPS 88825 Twin-Motor Bed Actuator – Direct Replacement Drive
The OKIMAT 4 EPS double-drive is the factory-fitted power unit used in many European and Australian adjustable beds and slatted frames. Inside the compact housing are two independent 6000 N linear actuators that raise the back and leg sections, an integrated 240 V AC power supply, and EPS (Emergency Power Supply) circuitry that lets you return the bed to the flat position with a 9 V battery during a blackout. A round 5-pin DIN handset socket on the side accepts all standard Okin and Limoss five-pin remotes, so you can simply plug in your existing handset. Match the silver compliance label on your old unit – if it reads “OKIMAT 4 EPS 88825”, this is the like-for-like swap you need.
Check Your Article Number & 5-Pin Plug Before Ordering
Before adding to cart, flip your current drive over and confirm:
- The label says OKIMAT 4 EPS (EPS is the emergency lowering version – IPS and other variants look similar but differ internally).
- The model number 88825 appears after the model name.
- Your handset cable ends in a round 5-pin DIN plug. (Some beds use seven-pin or RF controls; those need a different drive or separate control box.)
If any of these details differ, browse our full catalogue of electric bed spare parts (click here) or contact us for help identifying the right component.

Step-by-Step Installation Instructions
Important: The OKIMAT 4 double-drive weighs around 5kg and can be awkward to manoeuvre under a bed frame. Work with a helper, keep your back straight, and lift with your knees.
- Disconnect the power.
Unplug the bed’s mains lead from the wall socket and wait 60 seconds for any stored charge to dissipate. - Access the actuator.
Tip the bed frame onto its side or raise it on blocks so you can reach the drive. Two-person lift recommended. - Take a reference photo.
Use your phone to snap a clear picture of the compliance label and wiring before you disconnect anything. - Remove the old unit.
Pull out the handset’s 5-pin DIN plug, then undo the two slide-locks or screws that secure the actuator to the side rails. Lift the unit clear with your helper. - Fit the new OKIMAT 4 EPS 88825.
Slide the drive into the same brackets (or refit the screws), making sure the motor heads face the same way as the original. Tighten but do not overtighten the fasteners. - Reconnect the handset & mains lead.
Plug the wired remote into the 5-pin socket and the mains lead into the IEC inlet. Install a fresh 9 V battery for the EPS emergency-lowering feature. - Test the functions.
Return the bed to its normal position, plug into the wall, and confirm that both head and foot sections travel smoothly — then press and hold either button with the power cord unplugged to verify the EPS battery lowers the bed. - Tidy the cables.
Use the supplied clips or cable-ties to keep leads clear of moving parts.

FAQs
FAQs
Is this a genuine part?
Yes, this is a genuine Okin part, a Phoenix Mecano brand.
How do I confirm this drive is the right match for my bed?
Flip your existing actuator over and read the silver compliance label. If it says “OKIMAT 4 EPS” and the article number begins with 88825, this replacement is a direct swap. Also make sure your handset cable ends in a round 5-pin DIN plug—other plug styles require a different model.
Does the package include a handset remote?
No. This listing is for the twin-motor actuator only. Simply plug your current wired remote into the 5-pin socket. If your handset is damaged, we stock compatible remotes—see our bed handsets back in the store.
What battery is needed for the emergency-lowering feature?
A standard 9 V alkaline battery (PP3). It slides into the EPS battery drawer on the side of the unit. Replace the battery every 12 months, or after any power-outage use, to keep the feature reliable.
Do I need to program or calibrate anything after fitting the new actuator?
No. The OKIMAT 4 EPS is preset at the factory. Once mounted and reconnected to the handset and mains, the bed is ready to use—no pairing or limit setting required.
Is this a DIY-friendly job? What tools and time should I allow?
Absolutely. Remove the two axle pins (circlip pliers or screwdriver), unplug the handset and IEC lead, slide the old unit out, slide the new one in and re-pin—typically 10 minutes. No electrical skills, programming or voltage setting is required; everything is plug-and-play.
