Description
Leather Paint Primer & Adhesion Promoter
Our primer is a leather base coat used to improve surface adhesion before repairs or recolouring. This water-based adhesion promoter is compatible with our Leather Colourants and other leather repair products.
This 250ml bottle is suited to larger repair areas on leather and vinyl furniture. Use the coverage guide below to judge how much Primer you need for your chair or sofa.
Choosing Primer for Your Leather Repair
Leather Primer helps subsequent repair products adhere to the prepared surface. Colour loss still needs a suitable colourant, while cracks, cuts or other damage may need additional repair materials.
Leather Prep Wash prepares the surface by removing residues that can interfere with adhesion. Apply Primer after this preparation stage. If worn leather fibres need strengthening, see our Leather Binder.
If your leather couch is peeling or flaking, check the material and type of damage before choosing your repair products. See our guide to identifying your leather type or contact us for advice. Our repair range does not include products for suede or nubuck.
How Much Will 250ml Cover
As a guide, this 250ml bottle covers approximately one standard chair or a small two-seater. Coverage depends on the size and condition of the area and the amount used during application.
For one seat cushion or a pair of armrests, see our 50ml Leather Primer coverage guide to check whether the smaller bottle would be enough for your repair.
