White Liming Wax for Timber Furniture and Chalk Paint
Sofa Rehab Liming Wax White is an Australian made, white pigmented finishing wax used to create whitewashed, limed and softly weathered effects on timber and painted furniture. The wax can remain visible within timber grain, grooves, carvings and textured details, helping to highlight the character of the surface while allowing the underlying colour and finish to remain visible.
Suitable for chalk based paints, bare or stained timber, and compatible sealed or polished finishes. It can also be used to polish and refresh suitable white furniture. Made from Australian beeswax, carnauba wax and white pigment, with no harmful petrochemicals.
Control the Strength of the Whitewashed Effect
The finished appearance can be adjusted through the amount of wax applied and how much is removed during buffing. Leaving more wax within the grain, crevices and recessed details creates a stronger white highlighted effect. Removing more of the excess wax produces a softer and more subtle finish.
Results will vary according to the starting colour, timber grain, porosity, texture and existing coating. Liming Wax is not an opaque white paint or repair filler, so it will not make every surface uniformly white or fill scratches, chips, cracks and holes. Always test it in an inconspicuous area before applying it to visible parts of the furniture.
Is Liming Wax Right for Your Project?
This wax is intended for broad surface polishing, decorative finishing and visual restoration. It can refresh suitable white or painted furniture, create a whitewashed or softly weathered appearance, highlight timber grain and add pale contrast to carved, grooved or textured details.
It is not a timber filler, opaque white paint or structural repair product. Create the Finish Yourself
Apply the Liming Wax with a lint-free cloth or suitable brush, working it into the grain and textured areas. Wait approximately 15 minutes, then buff away the excess with a clean, soft cloth until the desired finish is revealed. Further applications can be added when a stronger white effect is required.

How to Use Sofa Rehab Liming Wax
Before you begin: Clean the surface and make sure it is dry and free from dust, dirt, grease and loose material. Always test the wax in an inconspicuous area first, as the finished appearance can vary with the timber colour, grain, porosity, texture and existing coating.
For a Limed or Whitewashed Effect
- Apply the wax.
Apply the Liming Wax generously with a suitable brush or lint-free cloth. Work in circular motions and focus on timber grain, grooves, carvings, crevices and textured areas. - Wait 15 minutes.
Allow the wax to remain on the surface for approximately 15 minutes. - Buff to reveal the finish.
Use a clean, soft cloth to remove the excess wax and reveal the desired whitewashed or softly weathered effect. Leave more wax within the grain and recessed details for stronger white highlighting, or buff away more wax for a softer result. - Reapply if required.
Apply another thin coat if a stronger white or more pronounced limed finish is desired.
For Polishing or Refreshing White Furniture
- Apply sparingly.
Apply a small amount of wax with a lint-free cloth, working in circular motions and finishing in the direction of the timber grain. - Wait 15 minutes.
Allow the wax to sit on the surface for approximately 15 minutes. - Buff the surface.
Buff with a clean, soft cloth until the desired sheen and finish are achieved. - Reapply as required.
Further light applications can be added when more colour or surface refreshment is needed.
Optional Final Protection
Once the desired limed finish has been achieved, Sofa Rehab Clear Timber Furniture Wax can be applied as an optional final coat for added protection and durability. Always confirm that the surface is suitable and test the complete finishing process in an inconspicuous area first.
