Australian Made Soft Wax Timber Repair Crayons
Sofa Rehab Timber Repair Crayons are Australian made colour-pigmented paraffin wax sticks used to fill and disguise small cosmetic defects in timber furniture and other suitable wooden surfaces. They are ideal for fine splits, pin holes, shallow gouges, minor surface depressions and scratches with enough depth to retain a small amount of wax.
The soft wax can be applied directly without heating or specialised tools. Suitable for indoor use on bare, stained and finished timber, as well as suitable veneer, melamine and laminate surfaces.

Colour names are matching guides only. Timber finishes vary with stain, coating, age, grain, sheen and lighting, so always test in an inconspicuous area before repairing a visible section.
Is a Timber Repair Crayon Right for Your Project?
Timber Repair Crayons are intended for shallow cosmetic defects where a small amount of material is missing. They provide a softer fill than our Beeswax Filler Sticks and are not structural fillers for large cracks, broken sections, loose joints or major timber damage.
For scratches and worn edges where colour has been removed but little or no material is missing, consider a Miller Scratch Fix Stain Pen (click here). These pens restore colour to exposed timber but do not fill depth.
For deeper scratches, cracks, small chips, crevices, shaped edges or defects that need a firmer and more resilient fill, use a Beeswax Filler Stick (click here). The firmer beeswax sticks are also generally better suited to appropriate timber flooring repairs than the softer repair crayons.

Quick DIY Cosmetic Timber Repairs
Before starting, test the colour and suitability in an inconspicuous area. Rub the crayon directly across the damaged section using gentle pressure to work the soft wax into the defect. Continue applying until the damage is filled, then carefully wipe away excess wax with a soft, non-abrasive cloth while leaving the repair level with the surrounding surface.
Small holes, splits and shallow marks do not always require furniture replacement or an expensive professional repair. With the right colour and careful application, you can complete these minor cosmetic repairs yourself and enjoy the satisfaction of restoring the furniture you already own.

How to Use a Timber Repair Crayon
Timber Repair Crayons are designed for small cosmetic defects such as fine splits, pin holes, shallow gouges, minor depressions and scratches with enough depth to hold the soft wax.
- Choose and test the colour.
Select the crayon that appears closest to the existing furniture finish. Test it in an inconspicuous area first to check the colour and surface suitability before repairing a visible section. - Prepare the damaged area.
Make sure the surface is clean, dry and free from loose dust or debris. Do not apply polish, furniture wax or cleaning products immediately before the repair. - Rub the crayon across the defect.
Apply the crayon directly over the damaged area using gentle pressure. Work across the defect from different directions to help press the soft wax into the split, hole, scratch or shallow gouge. - Fill the damaged area.
Continue applying the crayon until the wax has filled the defect and sits slightly above the surrounding surface. No heating or melting is required. - Remove the excess wax.
Gently wipe the surrounding surface with a soft, non-abrasive cloth. Take care to remove only the excess wax without pulling the fill back out of the damaged area. - Inspect and repeat if required.
Check the repair from different angles. Apply another small amount of wax if the defect is still visible or has not been completely filled, then wipe away the excess again. - Store the crayon correctly.
Replace the crayon in its packaging and store it in a cool, dry place away from heat and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
